Leiodontium geminoserratum S. He & Chantanaorr. (Hypnaceae), a new species from Thailand, is described herein based on distinctive morphological features. The new species resembles L. gracile Broth. from China and Nepal, but differs most notably in having moderately complanate leafy stems and branches, prorate laminal cells, doubly serrate basal leaf margin, and axillary hairs with a globose distal cell. An investigation of bryophyte diversity of three beach forests including Had Tung Prong, Had Tein Talay, and the beach forest in Thai Island and Sea Natural History Museum in Chon Buri Province, Thailand, was carried out. From 137 enumerated specimens, 16 species (6 mosses, 10 liverworts) in 12 genera (5 mosses, 7 liverworts) and eight families (5 mosses, 3 liverworts) were found. Among those the most common families of mosses are Fissidentaceae (2 species) and the most common families of liverwort are Lejeuneaceae (8 species). A comparison of species richness among the three areas revealed that the highest species richness of bryophytes was found in Had Tung Prong. An investigation of bryophyte diversity of Khao Soi Dao wildlife sanctuary, Chanthaburi Province, Thailand was carried out in April 2013. In total, 387 specimens were enumerated, consisting of 103 species (45 liverworts, 1 hornwort, 57 mosses), 67 genera (25 liverworts, 1 hornwort, 41 mosses), and 38 families (14 liverworts, 1 hornwort, 23 mosses), excluding those as yet unidentified to species. Among these, four species of mosses, including Clastobryum glabrescens (Z.Iwats.) B.C.Tan, Z.Iwats. & D.H.Norris, Macromitrium lorifolium Paris & Broth., Pterobryopsis gedehensis M.Fleisch., and Radulina borbonica (Bél.) W.R.Buck, are newly reported to Thailand in this paper.
