The article examines the spending of the infrastructure funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 across the U.S. In California, which will receive $2.6 billion for infrastructure construction work, the majority of the funds will be used by the State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP). There will be $103 million alloted budget for transit projects in Colorado. To receive between $15- and $16 billion, Texas will use $505.6 million of the funds for maintenance and rehabilitation of roads and bridges.
