This document presents a study that examines the long-term impacts of historical lynchings on Mexican Americans in Texas. The study uses census data from 1940 and matches it with data on lynchings in Texas. The analysis focuses on outcomes such as years of schooling, earnings, and home ownership. The results suggest that exposure to lynchings during childhood had small negative effects on these outcomes for Mexican Americans, but the magnitudes were not always statistically significant.
