Most research on pornography focuses on Western cultures and is dominated by Western models of media content and consumption. The paper takes a novel outlook based on a qualitative study of online behaviors and Web content in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. The paper shows that Chinese female Web users are internalizing the lure of overseas porn markets and sex activism, yet framing porn discourses as a mixture of nostalgic grandeur (Lolitas) and radical eccentricity (sex bloggers).
