The authors reflect on the need for a large-scale collaborative effort between human health scientists and social, environmental, physical, and engineering scientists to evaluate benefits and health risks associated with rapidly changing energy policies. They argue that energy conservation is the safest alternative and Switzerland uses only half of the energy per capita as the United States.
