The article presents a study that examines sex chromatin deviations among school children in special classes in Sweden. The investigation was carried out with the permission of the chief school medical officer in Gothenburg, who received reports of the pathological findings. All children were examined in their classes with the help of the school nurse. Each child examined received a serial number and this was the only identification sign for the smear preparation. At the time of the investigation, all the girls with double Barr bodies were placed in remedial classes.
