HISTORY of psychology - Abstract
The article explores the history of psychology, highlighting its nature as a discipline or whether it should be focused in generating theory or in understanding the individual. It recounts the event back in 1895 in Strasbourg, France where philosopher Wilhelm Windelband presented a speech delineating the two forms of evidence-based knowledge, the nomothetic and ideographic. Moreover, the contribution of psychologist B. F. Skinner in championing the Wundtian method is also highlighted.
