Repetitive practice can become an exploratory activity where instruction and discovery are linked, allowing instruction and guidance through tasks that help to construct and acquire the knowledge and skills that make up the content. (1) Background: The aim of the study was to show how a teaching method based on guided discovery would affect the teaching of children's aquatic competence in schoolchildren with different levels of competence. (2) Methods: An observational study was conducted with 385 schoolchildren (195 boys and 189 girls) aged 3–5 years belonging to a charter kindergarten, using an Instrument for the Measurement of Aquatic Competence in Children (SMACC) consisting of 17 items grouped into three dimensions: socio-affective, cognitive, and motor. (3) Results: After measuring aquatic competence, all age groups and all variables (motor, cognitive, and socio-affective) showed differences between pre- and post-scores and a high magnitude of effect size. When the teaching intervention was analyzed according to the level of aquatic competence of the age group, improvements were found in all variables in both the low and high-competence groups. (4) Conclusions: This study describes how guided discovery instruction has equal effects at different levels of proficiency. Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) is a growing phenomenon on social networks, with an estimated prevalence of 30% among young people in Spain. In light of the aforementioned considerations, we present a methodology designed to identify and analyse the content created by young people on TikTok. On the one hand, a quantitative study was conducted using an API to collect and classify multimedia content through hashtags. In addition, a qualitative analysis was conducted to elaborate a systemic study of the content. This paper focuses on the current situation and the historical development of Austrian Economics in Madrid. We will analyse the formation of this School as the result of the thesis defended by Joaquín Reig Albiol in the late fifties and the current economic debate surrounding the fractional reserve and other complex issues. In this half-century tour, we will explore three different generations of Austrian economists in Spain, whilst demonstrating that a distinct branch of the Austrian School is today live and well in Madrid. Eventually, we will discover how the Spanish Austrian economists have applied praxeology to contemporary political and economic problems and conclude that a vigorous and growing economic school of thought exists in Madrid. There are multiple approaches to bridging the gap between the relatively new world of three-dimensional survey and so-called reality-capture with traditional recording conventions and archaeological interpretative processes, challenges that have been encountered during the various fieldwork campaigns undertaken on the Ribadeo I wreck. Questions discussed in this paper include: does every team member need to be a 3D expert? Does a 3D specialist need to be an archaeologist? Is it enough to have a specialist 3D 'navigator', someone who can drive the software through the data and act as a guide to a wider team to deliver their own interpretation of the evidence? When conventional outputs are required, including plans, sections, profiles and other nautical-specific views, how can these be efficiently generated from the available photogrammetry and presented to provide comparable information to those who speak and require this type of visual language? This paper does not provide simple or definitive answers to these questions. However, the work undertaken so far on Ribadeo I can offer some contributions to current discussions and consider the challenges within the context of an internationally important shipwreck and work that is necessarily limited by available time and funds. The concept of democracy is central to our political systems and citizens are constantly asked in surveys about their views on democracy and related issues. However, these questions usually omit the fact that the democracy is a complex concept and only rarely are questions asked about how respondents understand democracy. Combining insights from political theory and survey methodology, this study analyses questions from the seven surveys that have been carried out in Spain to date that have directly addressed these conceptions. Some remarks are provided in the conclusion about the strengths and weaknesses of the questions asked so far, as well as some general recommendations for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the scientific literature, numerous different analyses have been reported on forest fires, in a constant effort to predict their behavior and occurrence. It is known that a variety of factors come together in these events: climatic, physiographic, socioeconomic and territorial, among others. However, although forest fires have a significant relationship with social conflict, this aspect has not been sufficiently studied. This aspect is particularly important in regions such as Galicia (Northwest Spain), where forest fires, either intentional or related to human activity, account for up to 95% of the total annual number of fires. As a measure of this social conflict, in this article, we compile the court sentences and newspaper reports, in which the montes vecinales en mano común VMC) of Galicia (a special type of property and tenure right) have been involved, which allows us to elaborate a chromatic coding that relates the three factors and allows us to detect spatio-temporal patterns. The resulting coding is a grid made up of 3034 rows and 15 columns, in which the color of each cell indicates the relationship between fires, newspaper reports, and court rulings. This coding also makes it possible to detect differences between the geographical sectors considered, which helps to detect spatio-temporal patterns and facilitates the implementation of specific prevention policies for each geographical sector. Twitter is one of several social networks with the highest numbers of users in Spain. In spite of this, how are communicative relationships developed in the digital environment among influencers who have emerged on the Internet? These personalities have a stronger influence on children and young people than traditional celebrities. The aim of this work is to study the communicative interaction generated on the profiles of Spanish influencers with the most followers on Twitter, based on the number of content items generated and the responses they receive from users. The polarity and sentiment conveyed by these communications have also been analysed. By processing publications in real time using machine learning based on sentiment analysis, 48,878 tweets and retweets from five influencers were studied over a period of 40 days. The results show that the publications reached nearly 200 million followers, and despite being fourth in terms of the number of followers, @IbaiLlanos is the influencer who leads the conversations on Twitter with the highest number of tweets, retweets, and audience share. Among the most popular topics, sporting events stand out. This study has also confirmed that the most frequently stated emotion is surprise, and that positive messages prevail over those that are negative and neutral with regard to polarity. Nevertheless, the linear regression data has verified that the main trend is toward publishing negative messages, with a lower statistical correlation, which is a behaviour that might possibly be duplicated on other social networks. The aim of this study is to show the path that General Didactics followed for its institutionalization as an academic discipline in the syllabus of teacher education in Spain, since it appeared in 1898 until the 1960s. The empirical framework is based on historical research: on the one hand, we reviewed the study programs of the School of Higher Education for Teaching, the Schools of Teaching and the Pedagogy Section of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters from the Central University of Madrid, during the period studied to detect the presence of General Didactics. On the other hand, we consulted the legal provisions on the administrative development of the first Didactics chair in Spain, from when it was projected until it was occupied, after a long journey that lasted more than eight years. The most outstanding results are that this academic discipline, representative of a whole wide area of pedagogical knowledge, is not present in the School of Higher Education for Teaching, due to its difficulties for its institutional recognition in Teaching Schools. However, it is present from the beginning in the Section of Pedagogy, where it is institutionally consolidated with the endowment of the Didactics chair. The conclusion reached is that the main hurdle for General Didactics to become an autonomous pedagogical field of knowledge sits at the fact that the trajectory of the academic institutionalization of General Didactics is temporarily expensive and epistemologically difficult because of denomination problems. After the adoption of the Bologna Plan by European Universities, the classical method used to evaluate students by traditional exams has changed, so that a wide typology of evaluation mechanisms have appeared. By means of those mechanisms, students may be evaluated according to the specific and transversal competences they have acquired during their degree. In this contribution, the authors present a methodology, based on a multi-criteria procedure, which could be used to evaluate University students from different perspectives so as to obtain an objective assessment about the level of achievement of such competences. The proposed methodology has been applied during the last four years to the course on Power Systems that is taught in the Master Degree in Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, whose results are also presented here. Seventeenth-century travel accounts written by ordinary people are a rarity. In this article, we analyze the unusual travel report by Gregorio de Robles, a Castilian peasant (labrador) who travelled several European empires in Western Europe and America at the end of the seventeenth and the beginning of the eighteenth centuries. The approach we offer is that of a global microhistory. The aim of this article is mainly methodological: we try to delineate the methodological steps we had to undertake to trace Robles in the sources. Looking for an early modern peasant traveler is comparable to searching for a needle in a haystack, but we argue that this endeavor is worthwhile because Robles offers a unique perspective on how ordinary people traveled in early modern times and on imperial frontier zones. In this article, 119 faculty members from 10 Spanish universities who engage in inclusive pedagogy reveal some of the methodological and affective strategies they use to motivate their students, including those with disabilities, and help them learn. The study described is a qualitative one in which one semi-structured interview was held with each participating faculty member. A system of inductive codes and categories was used for the data analysis. The results revealed that faculty members believe in and trust the capabilities of all their students. They meticulously plan their syllabus to ensure practical learning, using a diverse range of strategies and providing continuous feedback. They also adopt a student-centred teaching approach and attach value to emotional and affective aspects, as an effective strategy for learning. In this article, we will analyze how we built the research process of a collaborative ethnography with the Stop Evictions Granada 15M Movement (SEG15M). We will begin with a brief contextualization of the housing issues in Spain and the SEG15M movement to explain why we started the co-research experience with the movement. Next, we will clarify the composition, function, and main purposes of the 'debate groups' in our research, as well as their particular differences and dynamics concerning other qualitative techniques. Finally, we will focus on two main aspects, participation and communication, which emerged within the debates and later materialized into a transmedia project and the development of a radio soap opera. The latter is a product, and a process, of collaborative work that bridges communication and participation at the intra- and inter-group levels. The aim of this article is to study how Spanish firms implement and integrate the different management systems by a comparison of Spanish firms located in Spain and Spanish firms in Czech Republic. Two empirical studies were conducted in the aforementioned two countries. A questionnaire was sent to firms in both countries that comply with a specific requirement: that they had implanted at least two management systems (no matter which ones) to carry out the integration. This research will determine the contents of the integration plan, the integration methodology, the resources (human resources and procedures) involved in the different management systems as well as the main benefits and difficulties found during the integration process. This paper is one of the first studies where the location of Spanish firms is used as a differentiating factor to compare the Integrated Management System within two European countries, in this case, Spain and Czech Republic. Several reasons have prompted the National Geographic Institute of Spain (IGN-Spain) to implement an automatic process to generate the National Topographic Map 1:25,000 (MTN) instead trough the traditional manual way, pointing out the growing lack of human resources, in addition to the search for a quick response to the increasing demand of updated geoinformation by the society.This new automated process provides an annual production of all the map sheets composing the MTN25 (4.019 files), what is an unprecedented time record, so that the users can quickly both download them from the Download Centre Website and visualize the maps through the visualization web services WMS and WMTS. Technological changes pose the need to redefine educational models, incorporating programs, and methodologies, so that students acquire the scientific-technological competencies required in today's society. The objective of the research is aimed at establishing a generic method to develop STEAM projects, which are consistent with current curricula and at experimentally testing its validity by developing a STEAM project for a Primary Education class. As an example, and without loss of generality, the method proposed in this article is used to develop STEAM projects from the curriculum in the 4th, 5th, and 6th year of Primary Education in Spain. As a result, 11 areas of opportunity were detected, understood as areas that meet the necessary conditions to become the main theme of a STEAM project, and from which the "Sustainability" area was selected to develop a STEAM project. The project consists of an educational robotics kit, including a board that simulates a city and a robot programmed to travel on the board and activate the different elements that will make it a sustainable city. This first experience was carried out in a classroom with 30 students of 5th year, who showed great interest in the project and achieved a very satisfactory performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Between 2001 and 2018, the period covered by this research, it is perceived through the scientific publications on Archival Science in Spain that the topic of digital technology is increasingly present in the theoretical reflections, practices, and archival methodological options. Based on this observation, the objective of this article is to identify the scope of the thematic interrelations between archives, archival science, and digital technology. The research is exploratory, descriptive, and analytical in nature, based on a quantitative and qualitative analysis of scientific articles available in the Tábula, Lligall, and Boletín de la Anabad journals, published from 2001 to 2018, and organized by categories. The results in quantitative terms indicate that the most prominent category is what we call "Mutual influences between archives, archival science, and digital technology." The category that occupies the second place is "Description of experiences," followed by "Relations between archives, archival science, and digital technology" and "Theoretical and practical challenges" at almost the same level, albeit far behind the first two categories. In addition, it is concluded that there is a tendency in current archiving to explore the technological possibilities for its development rather than innovate in theoretical or epistemological terms. The aim of this study is to methodise aspects of a pedagogical strategy, a heuristic design of self-awareness, that promotes the fusion of education, art and research. It is born out of methods developed by myself implemented during the module on photography as part of a Degree in Fine Arts at The University of Granada in Spain, using the foundations of 'Dan Tian' and concepts developed from Taoism by Mantak Chia. Background: This paper describes a participatory methodology that supports investigation of the synergistic collaboration between communities affected by infectious disease outbreak events and relevant official institutions. The core principle underlying the methodology is the recognition that synergistic relationships, characterised by mutual trust and respect, between affected communities and official institutions provide the most effective means of addressing outbreak situations.Methods: The methodological approach and lessons learned were derived from four qualitative case studies including (i) two tick-borne disease events (Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever in Spain, 2016, and tick-borne encephalitis in the Netherlands, 2016); and (ii) two outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis (norovirus in Iceland, 2017, and verocytotoxin-producing Escherichia coli [VTEC] in Ireland, 2018). An after-event qualitative case study approach was taken using mixed methods. The studies were conducted in collaboration with the respective national public health authorities in the affected countries by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). The analysis focused on the specific actions undertaken by the participating countries' public health and other authorities in relation to community engagement, as well as the view from the perspective of affected communities.Results: Lessons highlight the critical importance of collaborating with ECDC National Focal Points during preparation and planning and with anthropological experts. Field work for each case study was conducted over one working week, which although limiting the number of individuals and institutions involved, still allowed for rich data collection due to the close collaboration with local authorities. The methodology enabled efficient extraction of synergies between authorities and communities. Implementing the methodology required a reflexivity among fieldworkers that ackowledges that different versions of reality can co-exist in the social domain. The method allowed for potential generalisability across studies. Issues of extra attention included insider-outsider perspectives, politically sensitivity of findings, and how to deal with ethical and language issues.Conclusions: The overall objective of the assessment is to identify synergies between institutional decision-making bodies and community actors and networks before, during and after an outbreak response to a given public health emergency. The European Union wants to know if its funds for territorial planning are being invested correctly. This is confirmed by the European 2020 Strategy, which requires monitoring and evaluation of EU policies and the Territorial Agenda of the European Union 2020 (which proposes the application of impact evaluations of plans that affect territories). But before monitoring and evaluating territorial plans, it is necessary to discuss the best methodology and model to apply. To begin the search for a methodology and a model to be applied in Spain, this paper proposes some of the preliminary questions that should be considered. The methodology is based on the selection of some of the main questions proposed by certain specialists, as well as legal, administrative and professional works. These questions are considered from the point of view of the life cycle of public policies (formation of the agenda, formulation, implementation, effects, evaluation and feedback) while following a comprehensive and adapted model for territorial plans. Thus, the result is the proposal of a specific questionnaire for the monitoring and evaluation of supramunicipal territorial plans in Spain. The questionnaire has been subjected to a critical process to verify its viability, consisting in its application to three territorial plans of different entities (regional/provincial, sub-regional, and supralocal), as well as time of evaluation (ex post, in itinere and ex ante), and type of plan (general, partial and sectorial). This article presents the multidisciplinary methodology employed in the restoration of a 17th-century timber roof frame in Spain. This detailed methodology furthers contributions of previous researchers and could be applied to any restoration work of patrimonial architecture. Our interest focuses on two main aspects: the importance of the knowledge of construction techniques of the time that the work in question was built and the necessary continuous interrelation between the different aspects involved in the process. The historical survey enjoys a greater scope than the mere description of the historical-constructive evolution. The collective consideration of all the aspects involved allows us to perform inspections properly, to detect the critical points of the system and even, as in this case, to define the criteria and procedure of intervention. Numerous studies have shown that the relative frequency of retouched pieces can help to distinguish forager mobility strategies amongst individual layers at a single site and, potentially, at multiple sites across regions (Riel-Salvatore & Barton, 2004; Riel-Salvatore et al., 2008; Barton & Riel-Salvatore, 2014). We use this proxy measure and other lines of evidence to evaluate Late Pleistocene human land-use practices from 47 Upper Paleolithic and Mesolithic sites in northern coastal Spain. To monitor mobility strategies we examine the proportion of retouched pieces to total lithics, focusing on backed pieces which probably served mostly as replaceable inserts in organic armatures for hunting weapons. Kuhn (1995) argued that foragers at some distance from a residential base would have had to rely on replaceable elements for the tools and weapons they carried with them. Assemblages with low total lithic densities but a high proportion of backed pieces would most likely represent the remains of short-term camps where hunting weapons were repaired in the field, whereas those with high lithic densities and relatively few backed pieces would likely represent residential bases where hunting weapons were manufactured. The analysis also links variation in lithic assemblages to paleoclimate and topography and uses 951 radiocarbon dates to identify demographic 'pulses' under the assumption that – ceteris paribus – the density of dates and the density of population are at least roughly linearly correlated with one another (French & Collins, 2015). Increases and decreases in regional population density can be detected and compared to episodes of climate change measured by the GISP2 and NGRIP2 ice cores over the Pleniglacial, Tardiglacial (MIS 2) and the early Holocene. Resumen Objetivos Describir la metodología del estudio de prevalencia de las enfermedades reumáticas en la población adulta en España, EPISER 2016, así como sus fortalezas y limitaciones. El objetivo del proyecto es estimar la prevalencia de artritis reumatoide (AR), artropatía psoriásica (APs), espondilitis anquilosante (EA), lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES), síndrome de Sjögren (SS), artrosis (de rodilla, cadera, manos, columna cervical y lumbar), fibromialgia, gota y fractura osteoporótica clínica. Material y método Estudio transversal multicéntrico de base poblacional en el que participan 45 municipios de las 17 comunidades autónomas. La población de referencia está compuesta por adultos de 20 o más años residentes en España. La recogida de información se llevará a cabo mediante encuesta telefónica empleando el sistema Computer Assisted Telephone Interview (CATI). Las sospechas diagnósticas y los diagnósticos autorreferidos serán estudiadas por reumatólogos del hospital de referencia de los municipios seleccionados. Análisis estadístico: se calcularán las prevalencias de enfermedades reumáticas mediante estimadores y sus IC del 95%. Se calcularán factores de ponderación en función de la probabilidad de selección en cada una de las etapas del muestreo. Se tendrá en cuenta la distribución de la población en España según datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística. Conclusiones Los cambios sociodemográficos y en hábitos de vida durante los últimos 16 años justifican la realización de EPISER 2016. El estudio ofrecerá datos actualizados de prevalencia en AR, EA, APs, LES, SS, artrosis, fibromialgia, gota y fractura osteoporótica clínica. Los resultados permitirán comparar los datos con estudios de otros países y con el EPISER 2000. Abstract Aims To describe the methodology of the EPISER 2016 (study of the prevalence of rheumatic diseases in adult population in Spain), as well its strengths and limitations. The aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren's syndrome (SS), osteoarthritis (knee, hip, hands, and cervical and lumbar spine), fibromyalgia, gout and clinical osteoporotic fracture. Material and method Population-based, multicenter, cross-sectional study, with the participation of 45 municipalities in the 17 Spanish autonomous communities. The reference population will consist of adults aged 20 years and over residing in Spain. A computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) system will be used for data collection. Diagnostic suspicions and diagnoses received by the participants will be studied by rheumatologists in the referral hospitals in the selected municipalities. Statistical analysis: the prevalence of the rheumatic diseases will be calculated using estimators and their 95% confidence intervals. Weights will be calculated in each of the sampling stages in accordance with the probability of selection. The distribution of the population in Spain will be obtained from the Spanish Statistics Institute. Conclusions Sociodemographic and lifestyle changes over the last 16 years justify EPISER 2016. This study will provide current data about the prevalences of RA, AS, PsA, SLE, SS, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, gout and clinical osteoporotic fracture. This paper presents a study that analyses the effect of financing costs on grid parity in photovoltaic (PV) installations by applying a probabilistic methodology. Three different case studies, located in Spain, have been considered, with 500 kW, 50 kW and 5 kW grid-connected PV generators. The technical and economic calculations were performed, considering the interest rate, yield across the Spanish geography, and PV module cost as parameters. The Monte Carlo method was applied to consider the full probabilistic range of values given to the different variables. The goal of this study was to determine, for the studied cases, the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) and the internal rate of return by considering realistic values of the variables. A success rate parameter was calculated, which determined the likelihood of the number of times that the LCOE was below the retail cost of electricity. All the cases were evaluated by applying 10,000 iterations, considering the standard deviations and means defined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article is a contribution to the debate which has been taking place for some years now around the use of artistic research methodologies in conservatories in Spain. To be precise, it supports a methodology centered on artistic activity, which is not conditioned by the dictates of science and the need to obtain results. Within this current of thought, we have developed a new methodology of artistic research, a/r/tography, which is adapted from Fine Arts, and is aimed at teachers in music conservatories and makes it possible to simultaneously research, perform and teach a piece of music. We estimate the causal effects of immigrant networks on individuals’ remittance sending behavior for migrants from many different countries residing in Spain. Our methodology addresses typical issues that arise when estimating network effects: reverse causality, common unobserved factors, and self-selection. In particular, we instrument the size of networks by predicting the number of migrants in each location using the location’s accessibility by distinct methods of transportation and information about how migrants from each country initially arrived in Spain. Our findings show that immigrants from above-average remitting countries remit more if they live in larger networks. For a subset of countries that receive large remittance flows from Spain, we show that migrants in larger networks are less likely to use most expensive remittance channels, and that cost spreads between the most expensive and cheapest remittance service provider are lower for countries characterized by stronger networks. Objective: This study aims to determine whether three different methodological approaches used to assess poly-victimization that apply the Juvenile Victimization Questionnaire (JVQ; Finkelhor, Hamby, Ormrod, & Turner, 2005) identify the same group of adolescent poly-victims. Method: The sample consisted of 1,105 adolescents (590 males and 515 females), aged 12-17 years old (M = 14.52, SD = 1.76) and recruited from seven secondary schools in Spain. The JVQ was used to assess lifetime and past-year experiences of victimization. Results: Poly-victims were more likely to experience all types of victimization than victims, regardless of the method used. The degree of agreement between the methods for identifying poly-victimization was moderate for both timeframes, with the highest agreements being recorded between the one-above-the-mean number of victimizations and Latent Class Analysis (LCA) for lifetime, and between the top 10% and LCA for past-year victimization. Conclusions: Researchers and clinicians should be aware that the use of different methods to define poly-victimization may mean that different victims are identified. The choice of one method or another may have important implications. In consequence, focusing on how we operationalize poly-victimization should be a priority in the near future. This article deals with modes of seeing and ways of working in contemporary Spanish theatre. It explores the methodologies of talking with actors about the preparation and enactment of a role, of observing rehearsals and discussing the setting up of the sequence of actions that makes up the theatrical performance, and how these interactive collaborations with theatre and film artists can assist in a mapping out of ‘other’ or largely undocumented working practices. I draw on a number of select examples: conversations with Nuria Espert on her own practice; observational work watching the production process of stage directors Calixto Bieito and Lluís Pasqual; and in the final section of the paper, an extended consideration of my collaborations with Pedro Almodóvar. Through a framing mechanism drawing on archival research conducted on the actresses María Guerrero and Margarita Xirgu, I hope to show how an engagement with practices of enactment has shaped the historical narratives I have constructed on contemporary creative practice, and the ways in which a direct engagement with those who make culture in Spain can assist in understanding how that culture is constructed and consumed. This paper analyses generalised passenger transport costs for the period 2005 to 2014, following the launch of high-speed rail in Spain for routes on which this mode competes with air travel. Demand functions for air links are analysed using an empirical methodology. Demand functions depend on income, generalised cost of air transport, and the price of alternative means of transport. The research is original in that, to our knowledge, these cross elasticities for the ten-year study period have not previously been estimated. The findings suggest that demand for air travel has fallen due to increased competition from high-speed rail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

OBJECTIVE: To describe the methodology utilized to calculate reliability and the generation of norms for 10 neuropsychological tests for children in Spanish-speaking countries. METHOD: The study sample consisted of over 4,373 healthy children from nine countries in Latin America (Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Puerto Rico) and Spain. Inclusion criteria for all countries were to have between 6 to 17 years of age, an Intelligence Quotient of=80 on the Test of Non-Verbal Intelligence (TONI-2), and score of <19 on the Children's Depression Inventory. Participants completed 10 neuropsychological tests. Reliability and norms were calculated for all tests. RESULTS: Test-retest analysis showed excellent or good-reliability on all tests (r's>0.55; p's<0.001) except M-WCST perseverative errors whose coefficient magnitude was fair. All scores were normed using multiple linear regressions and standard deviations of residual values. Age, age2, sex, and mean level of parental education (MLPE) were included as predictors in the models by country. The non-significant variables (p > 0.05) were removed and the analysis were run again. CONCLUSIONS: This is the largest Spanish-speaking children and adolescents normative study in the world. For the generation of normative data, the method based on linear regression models and the standard deviation of residual values was used. This method allows determination of the specific variables that predict test scores, helps identify and control for collinearity of predictive variables, and generates continuous and more reliable norms than those of traditional methods.
