This study investigates how academic staff achieves career satisfaction (CS) and life satisfaction (LS) under direct and different configurations of servant leadership (SL) dimensions. Using a survey of academics in Spain, China, and Pakistan, this study uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the direct relationship, and fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to find configurations of SL dimensions that lead to career and LS. Direct relationships revealed that in each country, almost all dimensions failed to create any individual impact on CS and LS. The fsQCA results revealed an asymmetric relationship between the different SL dimensions and outcomes. Prior SL, CS, and LS research has primarily relied on symmetrical correlational methods. This is one of the first studies to use fsQCA in SL, CS, and LS in higher education literature. Furthermore, there is significantly limited research on SL in a cross-country setting. The aims of this study are threefold in their approach to English academy teaching: (i) to assess learner satisfaction, (ii) to assess the impact of satisfaction on loyalty and (iii) to assess the three constructs that we considered to be the antecedents of learner satisfaction: learner motivation, learner attitude and service quality. To collect the data, a questionnaire was developed and delivered to 334 English learners in Spain in 2014. We concluded from these results that learner satisfaction is directly influenced by service quality; whereas learner motivation and learner attitude have no significant impact on learner satisfaction. Moreover, learner satisfaction has a strong impact on learner loyalty. The results also indicated that intrinsic motivation has a direct positive correlation with learner attitude and service quality, whilst extrinsic motivation has an insignificant relationship with learner attitude and a negative relationship with service quality. Amongst the four dimensions used to measure service quality two factors--namely teachers and tangibles (materials, equipment and facilities)--are the most important.

This paper analyses the antecedents of loyalty in a collaborative consumption (CC) setting, taking into account the mediating role of satisfaction and the fulfilment of expectations between perceived quality and loyalty. The methodological approach uses structural equation modelling, with a sample of 301 customers collected in Spain in June 2018. The CC-Qual scale of 21 items gathered under five dimensions assesses perceived quality, which is composed of three dimensions related to the platform ('site organisation', 'platform responsiveness and agility' and 'legal protection and trustworthiness'), and two related to the service provided by the peer ('peer service provider' and 'social interaction'). Both sets affect loyalty in the same way, through the mediation of the fulfilment of expectations and satisfaction. The model is useful for academics because it explains how the fulfilment of expectations and satisfaction mediate between quality and loyalty. This quantitative study aims to observe the purchase intention of halal food products in Spain from the perspective of Muslim tourists. 500 Muslim respondents who have visited Spain participated in answering our research questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM method using SmartPLS 3.0 software. Our result shows that both the halal credence and the need for cognition have no direct effects on halal purchase intention. However, halal consumers' attitude acts as significant mediators in the indirect effects of both halal credence and the need for cognition on halal purchase intention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors that influence purchase intention of halal food among Spanish Muslim consumers. Data were obtained from a survey of 228 consumers living in various regions of Spain, then analyzed using the partial least squares technique. Our results showed that product awareness does not have an effect on purchase intention while other constructs do, including the mediating effect of consumers' attitude towards halal label and moderating effect of religious involvement. This paper explores the benefits organizations perceive that they have attained by their ISO 20000 service management system standard certification. The paper proposes a classification of benefits and tests the relationship between that classification and general satisfaction with the standard. The study is based on 105 responses to ISO-20000-certified organisations survey in Spain. After a descriptive analysis of the sample, a structural equation model is designed to test the hypotheses presented. According to the model, ISO 20000 benefits can be divided into those which are internal and those which are external. The variables that best define each type are identified. Moreover, those benefits are shown to be related to general satisfaction with ISO 20000 certification. The findings can be extended to other IT service management standards such as ITIL. Purpose – The aim of this study is to compare the diffusion of certifications under two quality management systems (QMSs) in the tourism sector in Spain: the generic ISO 9001 international standard; and the Spanish industry-specific "Q" standard. Design/methodology/approach – The study pursues this objective by comparing the logistic curves of dissemination of certifications under the two standards using data obtained from official sources. This analysis is complemented with qualitative data from several case studies of Spanish hotels and restaurants. Findings – The results show that the two standards are at different stages of diffusion: certification under the Spanish "Q" standard is increasing, while the ISO 9001 international standard seems to have reached saturation point, despite the fact that a lower number of certifications have been registered under ISO 9001 than under the "Q" standard. Originality/value – The main contribution of this study is that it is one of the first to analyse the dissemination of quality standards in a specific sector. This study provides empirical evidence of the nature of the relationship between environmental management systems and organizational innovations. Using a sample of Spanish manufacturing firms, the study reports on the implementation of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14000 environmental quality standards and the relationship of such implementation with organizational innovations in the firm. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether ISO 9001 certification by banks affects customers' perceptions of e-service quality (and hence customer satisfaction and loyalty) in online banking services. In pursuit of this objective, the study also investigates: the validity of a modified scale for measuring e-service quality in online banking services; and the factors that might influence customer satisfaction and loyalty in the context of online banking services (and the possible mediating/moderating effects of customer satisfaction on the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty). Design/methodology/approach – An online survey is conducted among 428 customers of online banking services in Spain. Exploratory factor analyses, multi-regression analyses, and Mann-Whithney U-tests are utilised to assess the proposed modification of the E-S-QUAL scale; the relationships among the constructs of service quality, satisfaction, and loyalty; and whether ISO 9001 certification affects customers' perceptions of e-service quality (and hence satisfaction and loyalty). Findings – Three of the four dimensions of the modified E-S-QUAL scale are confirmed, and all have a positive impact on customer satisfaction, which, in turn, significantly influences e-loyalty. The mediating/moderating role of satisfaction on the relationship between service quality and loyalty is confirmed. Contrary to the research hypothesis, ISO 9001 certification does not seem to influence customers' perceptions of e-service quality. Practical implications – Managers should consider ISO 9001 certification, even if only for the internal benefits that it promises to provide. Managers must ensure superior e-service quality (especially with regard to "efficiency") if they wish to promote customer satisfaction and loyalty. As quality management has become more important in the tourist sector, the implementation of standardised quality management systems has become more common in this industry. A forerunner in this development has been the Spanish tourist sector, in which 17 specific quality management standards have been developed over several years in various tourist sub-sectors, including hotels, rural accommodation, restaurants, spas, and travel agencies. The present study, which is exploratory in nature, analyses the diffusion of these standards using a model that has been well attested in the specialised literature, together with a qualitative analysis of three practical cases. The study concludes that the standardisation of quality management in tourism will increase in coming years. The worldwide diffusion of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 in many service sectors and the findings of the present study with respect to the increasing implementation of the Spanish standards provide an indication of what is likely to happen in the service sector as a whole in most countries.
