Abstract: Renewable energies in Spain have been promoted since 2002, proof of this lies in the fact that in 2007 renewable energy accounted for 6.9% of the consumption of primary energy. The renewable energies market is one of the sectors with the greatest growth in recent years in Spain and is key to the energy policies at national level. Both at national and regional level diverse targets have been set for the production of renewable energies, this article seeks to analyse the potential, current state, and perspectives of renewable energies in the Region of Murcia, investigating the possibilities of fulfilling the objectives established. The solar energy potential should be highlighted, where most of the territory has more than 5.0kWh/m2; also the wind power potential, where in certain areas there are winds of more than 6m/s; and the biogas potential due to the extensive livestock herds. With reference to the targets for photovoltaic and wind power, these have been reached; but in the rest of the energy sources the fulfilment of the objectives depends on favourable management and administration policies. Likewise, a comparative study of the state of the Region of Murcia has also been carried out, taking the national situation as the reference. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The objectives of the present study are to analyze the different training patterns of the amateur runners, according to their gender, and to find out a correlation between the training pattern and the motivation. The sample was composed of 457 amateur runners. For the collection of data, a two-part questionnaire was used. The first part consisted of questions about sporting and healthy patterns and the second part consisted of the Perception of Success Questionnaire (POSQ), adapted to Spanish. The obtained results indicated that their motives for starting to practice running and to continue their involvement are health and fun. The training pattern is as follows: they practise one to three days per week, running from three to five hours overall plus additional stretching and high intensity training. They participated in less than one running event per month. Most of them did not belong to an athletic club, did not have a coach, were not federated and have more than four years' experience of running. What concerns the gender differences, the men trained more than the women, and they did it with relatives and friends; women preferred to do it with friends or by themselves with the assistance of a coach. Age and running hours per week were the best variables to predict the task goal orientation, especially for men. For women, training hours per week predicted the goal orientation but to the ego. This finding could be especially helpful for coaches. A high number of training hours for men was linked with a task goal orientation, and on the other hand, for women it meant an ego goal orientation. The consequences of their behaviours were likely to be markedly different.

The objective of this work was to provide evidence on the dimensionality of the Spanish version of Sport Motivation Scale II adapted to physical education (SMS-II-PE) in one of its hypothesized models (6 factors). A sample of 1055 secondary education students of the Region of Murcia, Spain, aged between 12 and 17 years, was used. As an instrument, the SMS-II-PE was used. The factorial structure was examined with confirmatory factor analysis, and internal consistency and invariance by sex were evaluated. The results confirmed that the Spanish model of 6 factors and 18 items presented good adjustment indicators and is valid for its application in the educational field of Physical Education lessons.

The study of biomarkers in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a technique used with increasing frequency in the early diagnosis of Alzheimers disease (AD). Our objectiv was to gain an own experience while evaluating the reliability, sensitivity, and reproducibility of this technique in Spanish patients. Thirty-seven patients with MCI and twenty-four control subjects were studied by means of AD biomarker analysis in CSF. xMAP Luminex and INNO-BIA Alzbio3 reagents of Innogenetics were used. The study variables assessed were levels of Aβ(1-42), T-tau and P-tau(181p) proteins as well as the ratios of T-tau/Aβ(1-42) and P-tau(181p)/Aβ(1-42). Samples from nineteen patients were examined twice. Intra-class correlation coefficients for the three biomarkers used showed values higher than 0.95. We observed significant differences between the control group and the MCI groups. In the 6 months following lumbar puncture (LP), eleven (29%) patients with MCI developed AD. These patients showed significant lower levels in Aβ(1-42) protein (276.35 ± 78 vs. 367.13 ± 123.49, P < 0.03) and higher ratios (T-tau/Aβ(1-42) [0.38 ± 0.2 vs. 0.22 ± 0.14, P < 0.01] and P-tau(181p)/Aβ(1-42) [0.27 ± 0.13 vs. 0.16 ± 0.1, P < 0.008]) to those in the same group who remained stable. We obtained similar results to those in the most recent reliable literature with our ROC curves, especially with our P-tau(181p) values and T-tau/Aβ(1-42) ratio in order to differentiate between control and AD groups. Our experience showed that the analysis of CSF-AD biomarkers in patients with MCI is reliable, sensitive and reproducible. In our knowledge, this is the first experience in Spanish patients.
