The article presents a preliminary analysis of the rules on fresh start and debt relief for individual debtors to be found in the recent Spanish Real Decreto-ley 1/2015, de 27 de febrero (RDL 1/2015). The new rules are presented in the context of the traditional preeminence of the rule of unlimited liability of individual debtors under Spanish Law, as well as the limited steps undertaken in Spanish Law to limit such primacy, specially since 2013. The main economic benefits and disadvantages of debt relief for individual debtors are reviewed, and the main solutions introduced by the new Spanish legislation are covered, both those essentially inspired by the Entrepreneurship Act of 201 and those newly designed by RDL 1/2015. Finally, the paper attempts at a first evaluation of the main choices made by Spanish Law in this area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: This paper reports on analysis of plant macrofossils in aeolian deposits exposed in El Asperillo cliff in the Province of Huelva. A significant find of a large number of macrofossils of Pinus (Pinus pinaster Ait. and Pinus nigra Arnold) makes a major contribution to our understanding of the role of Pine in the Upper Pleistocene landscapes of Iberia. P. pinaster Ait. and P. nigra Arnold, are meso-microthermic species and inhabited valleys excavated in aeolian sediments mainly deposited during OIS 4 and OIS 3 (based on OSL and radiocarbon ages). Their presence in these valleys during the last part of OIS4 and OIS 3 reflects a significant fall in temperature during certain periods of these isotopic stages and helps us better understand the response of coastal dynamics to climate change. This research assesses the impact of the integration of Continuous Climb operations (CCOs) on Air Traffic Control (ATC) workload. The methodology encompasses different modules: CCO, standard departing and arriving trajectories extracted from an external database, an ad-hoc algorithm for detecting and solving conflicts, and an ATC-workload model with the inclusion of CCO-task modifications. Monte Carlo simulations evaluates different combinations of these modules. Then, a sensitivity analysis is performed to evaluate two parameters: the impact of the calibration of the maximum ATC workload and the percentage increase of the CCO tasks on the ATC workload. The methodology is applied to a case study at Palma airport in Spain. Extensive numerical simulations are executed based on the integration of CCOs into the system from 0% to 100%. The integration of CCOs implies the increase of the ATC workload in the Control Tower (TWR) and the reduction in the Approach Control Centre (APP). The sensitivity analysis shows that the decrease in the increase of CCO-task workload barely affects the number of CCOs that can be operated without exceeding the workload limits. Conversely, the reduction of the ATC workload calibration allows the integration of CCOs around 50% in the case of 90% TWR calibration and up to 100% in the case of 80%. • This research assesses the impact of the integration of Continuous Climb operations (CCOs) on ATC workload. • ATC-workload model is a task-based model tuned by the introduction of CCOs. • CCO integration increases the ATC workload in the TWR and reduces it in the APP dependency. • Sensitivity analysis evaluates the impact of the ATC maximum-workload calibration and the CCO-tasks weight. • The reduction of ATC maximum-workload calibration implies an increase on the CCO percentage integration. Abstract: The role of pinewoods as native forests in the Iberian Mountains, and their long-term dynamics during the last interglacial, has been intensely debated among geobotanists. This debate has resulted in several different hypotheses regarding the interpretation of the present day landscape. Recent research on Late Quaternary palaeoecological records has enabled long-term patterns of forest dynamics in the main ranges of the Iberian Peninsula to be tested, and the parallel analysis of micro- (mainly pollen) and macroremains (woods, charcoals, fruits, seeds and leaves) has enhanced the resolution of these palaeobiological records. Additional historical information has allowed a complete overview of the past vegetal landscapes to be obtained. This work summarises the available data for Iberian mountain pines during the Lateglacial and the Holocene, focussing on the mountain regions in scenarios of absence or dominance. Based on this overview, life history traits and patterns of plant dynamics during the Holocene are discussed and compared with present landscapes. In the long term, Pinus does not always respond as a serial element in succession dynamics, not even in very favourable environments for hardwoods. Processes such as incumbency or resilience, and features such as frugality and their ability to disperse, affect the persistence of pines to the present day. This is exemplified for continental mountain areas, in which the absence of anthropogenic activities could have determined the wider coverage of pinewoods seen today. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
