Background: The aim of this study was to develop a scale to measure patient safety care activities for clinical nurses and to verify validity and reliability it.Methods: Literature review and expert consultation were utilized to develop the scale of the Patient Safety Care Activities. The validity and reliability analyses were conducted with 428 nurses working at 5 general hospitals. Exploratory factor analysis of the scale was performed, and convergent and discriminant validity as well as internal consistency reliability were determined.Results: Eight subcategories (security, patient identification, operation (invasive procedure), medication, blood transfusion, management of infection, management of falls & sores, management of firefighting) with 44 items were validated to measure patient safety care activities. Convergent and discriminant validity indicated the applicability of the eight-factor Patient Safety Care Activities scale. The reliability of the Patient Safety Care Activities Scale was acceptable, with Cronbach's a = .88 ~ .95.Conclusion: The developed scale showed content, construct validity, and reliability, as well as convergent validity for each item and discriminant validity between the factors. Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among cardiac rehabilitation knowledge, educational need and health behavior practice in patients with coronary artery disease and explain factors influencing health behavior practice.Method: The research participants were 189 patients with coronary artery disease from general hospital located in Korea. Self-evaluation questionnaires were used to collect the data. Data was collected from January to May, 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression with the SPSS 24.0 program.Results: There were significant positive relationships between cardiac rehabilitation knowledge and health behavior practice (r = .37, p < .001), and significant positive relationships between educational need and health behavior practice (r = .17, p = .022). Factors influencing health behavior practice were identified, the most critical predictive factor was age (≥80) (β = .52), followed by cardiac rehabilitation knowledge (β = .42), regular exercise (No) (β = -.25), family history (No) (β = .24), age (60-69) (β = .22), cohabitation (No) (β = -.20) and educational needs (β = .17). The explanation power of this model was 50% and it was statistically significant (F = 13.42, p < .001).Conclusion: This study suggests that cardiac rehabilitation knowledge and educational need should be considered in enhancing cardiac rehabilitation programs designed for patients with coronary artery disease. Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and needs of sex education in high school students. Methods: There were 258 participants who were high school students in S high school in G city. Data were collected from October 1 to October 31, 2011, and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 19.0. Results: The mean score for sexual knowledge was 69.78, sexual attitudes was 63.66, and needs of sex education was 75.37. Sexual knowledge had positive correlation with needs of sex education (r=.17, p=.007). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicated a need to develop programs for high school students to increase appropriate sexual knowledge, and to encourage appropriate sexual attitudes, and to reflect needs of sex education. Background: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) cause increases in length of stay, mortality, and healthcare costs. A previous study conducted in Taiwan obtained similar results to those reported in Korea and Japan in 2015. Changes in microorganisms have been noted in recent years. Understanding the recent condition of HAIs in intensive care units (ICUs) can enable healthcare providers to develop effective infection control protocols to reduce HAIs. Methods: We used the Taiwan Nosocomial Infection Surveillance System to evaluate the incidence densities of HAIs, the proportions of causative pathogens, and the proportions of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The Poisson regression model was constructed to incidence density, and the chi-square test was used to assess proportion. Results: The incidence density of HAIs decreased 5.7 to 5.4 per 1000 person-days. However, the proportions of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterococcus faecium significantly increased. In addition, the proportions of carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium significantly increased over time. Conclusion: Analysis of the microorganisms involved in HAIs in ICUs showed elevated proportions of K. pneumoniae and E. faecium with AMR. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify female Hansen's disease experience in settlement village in Korea. Method: For this study, 11 participants in settlement village were purposively chosen. Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews from July to December 2015. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed following Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis to uncover the meaning of the experiences of the participants. Results: The study results showed that female Hansen's disease experience in settlement village consisted of 9 theme and 4 theme clusters: 1) Inescapable shackles; 2) Suffered as if being in prison,; 3) In no position to be a woman or a mother; 4) Another hometown. Conclusion: The findings of this study recommends that health care professionals should pay attention not only to leprosy patients to reduce their physical and psychological suffering but also to the community and public culture to promote integration of Hansenin in the community, continued promotion and reform are needed to overcome the stigma. The results of the present study can help us in a better understanding of various aspects of female patients with Hansen's disease residing in settlement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
