Abstract

The article presents a study which describes the family meetings between older adults, caregivers, and geriatricians in intermediate care to discuss a shared-decision-making (SDM) approach. The researchers detail the study design using the OPTION system to measure clinician SDM behavior with cognitive impairment competency. The study implies that SDM can be achieved during consultations of frail older patients with their caregivers.
