Nowadays, corporate culture has become a strategic priority for companies. It is an important part of companies, as it indicates the overall trend in the behaviour of employees' work relations and processes. At the same time, corporate culture helps employees understand the company, identify with the company's goals, and become part of the company. Some authors consider corporate culture to be the main characteristic that distinguishes successful companies. If a company exhibits a high level of culture, its organizational performance also increases. Therefore, we consider corporate culture to be an integral part of every company. Data for the research was obtained through an online questionnaire. Subsequently, we used the statistical program IBM SPSS 25. To determine the existence of a relationship between company size and corporate culture and between industry and corporate culture, we used Pearson's χ2 test for contingency tables, as the variables are qualitative. Subsequently, we evaluated the strength of the relationship based on Cramer's V. Subsequently, correspondence analysis was used to display the use of corporate culture for industries according to SK NACE and company size. Using Pearson's χ2 test, we found that there is a weak relationship between firm size and corporate culture, and a moderate relationship between industry and corporate culture. On the basis of correspondence analysis, we found, for example, that micro-enterprises use a culture of power, medium-sized enterprises use a culture of roles, and the electricity and gas supply industry uses a culture of performance. The added value of the article is the topicality of the research and the fact that the results relate to the Slovak Republic and can serve as a basis for further research. The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected normal human behaviour in day-to-day activities. As a result of various restrictions, people have significantly changed their shopping and mobility to limit the spread of the pandemic. This article aims to determine the association between consumers' shopping preferences and the frequency of selected daily activities during and before the COVID-19 pandemic using correspondence analysis. The total sample consists of 407 respondents from Slovakia. The data are obtained from an online questionnaire divided into several sections such as socio-demographic factors, shopping preferences, and frequency of selected activities per week. The results show that there is an association between consumers' preference for shopping in supermarkets and the frequency of family visits per week during the pandemic, among other factors. The aim of presented study is to evaluate macroeconomic environment and to determine differences in perception of macroeconomic environment by entrepreneurs in Slovak Republic and Czech Republic. Data collection was done by questionnaire which was answered by 329 entrepreneurs from Slovak Republic and 312 entrepreneurs from Czech Republic. Topics treated concerning macroenvironment were the favourableness of macroenvironment for business activities, its support for starting an entrepreneurship, its support of innovation activities of companies and its capacity to promote entrepreneurship and to create interesting business opportunities. Answers are divided according to sector in which entrepreneurs doing business. Considered sectors are: transport, trade, construction, production, agriculture, services and other sectors. To analyse collected data, we use correspondence analysis. Results show that there exists systematic difference in perception of macroenvironment by entrepreneurs from SMEs in Slovak Republic and Czech Republic. It seems that entrepreneurs from Czech Republic percept macroenvironment more positively than Slovak ones. Moreover, we document different perception of macroeconomic situation depending on sector in which entrepreneurs operate. Presented research results bring findings for the creators of economic policies. Similarly, presented results form a platform for concepts of strategic and regional plans in order to provide sustainable business environment in the countries, and also their stable economic growth. Research background: Improving business conditions and SME development are signs of a country's macroeconomic stability. The issue of identifying and removing barriers to the development of firms in the SME segment is a priority in all countries with developed economies and its importance is currently increasing. Purpose of the article: The main aim of this paper is to explore possible differences in entrepreneurs' perception of the business environment based on the industry in which the company operates. The analysis contains also a national view, where a comparison between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic is performed. Methods: Correspondence analysis was used to achieve the research objectives in order to examine the relations between the categorical variables. Its application is beneficial in cases where the graphic output is clearer than the numerical one. Findings & Value added: The presented research makes it possible to identify problematic aspects of doing business in each sector and to create support mechanisms for the creation of effective structural policies. Entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic's Production and Transport sectors agree with the statement that the business environment in the country is suitable for starting a business. As for business environment's suitability for doing business, neither Slovak nor Czech entrepreneurs sector-wide agreed with the given statement. Czech entrepreneurs from the Services, Trade and Construction sectors ,respectively, agree, fully agree with the statement that the business environment in the country is reasonably risky and allows for doing business. In the case of entrepreneurs from Slovakia, no significant correspondence is observed. Findings regarding the statement that the business conditions in the country have improved over the past five years are the following: In the Czech Republic, there is a perfect correspondence of the Transport sector and the agreement with the given statement. The main aim of the paper is to research the differences in perception and evaluation impact of the country on macroeconomic business environment on the basis of a sector in which the entrepreneur is running a business. Differences in perception and evaluation of entrepreneurial support from the state on the basis of a sector, in which the company is established, are analyzed using the cases of the Slovak and Czech Republic. Correspondence analysis is applied, while exploratory technique has been designed to examine the data with the aim to reduce dimensionality. Correspondence analysis provides a measure of correspondence between the explored dimensions - the categorical variables. This technique is widely applied incases when graphical output is clearer than numeric output. The outcome of correspondence analysis is presented in a form of a two-dimensional diagram. Out of 641 collected questionnaires, 329 were from the Slovak Republic and 312 were from the Czech Republic. The dataset consists of 492 micro companies, 114 small companies and 35 medium-sized companies. The Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic are compared in relation to four statements that form entrepreneurial support from the state's view. The first correspondence map looks for the relation between these dimensions. Generally, the respondents from the Czech Republic demonstrate more agreement than the respondents from the Slovak Republic. Objective: The aim of this article is to evaluate the relationship between work intensity and educational attainment of the household head and household type in Slovakia. Research Design & Methods: Statistical analyses were carried out in analytics software SAS Base and SAS Enterprise Guide by means of contingency, correspondence analysis and multinomial logistic regression. Empirical analyses are based on data from the survey EU-SILC 2015. Findings: The article provides estimates of the probabilities of individual degrees of households' work intensity depending on the household type and educational attainment level of the household head, while simultaneously in both cases households are broken down by economic activity of the household head. The presented analysis revealed categories of households which are the most and the least threatened by labour market exclusion from the point of view of the considered factors. Implications & Recommendations: While the social inclusion monitor in Europe says that in 2012 (quasi-) joblessness was typical for households with three or more children, our analysis for 2014 did not confirm this. The exclusion from the labour market in 2014 was the most typical in Slovakia for households without dependent children, where there is no more than one person in productive age. Contribution & Value Added: The article is not limited only to the very low work intensity which is used to assess the progress in the reduction of (quasi-) joblessness, but focuses on all the levels of work intensity (very low, low, medium, high and very high). This article compares attitudes to buying organic food in selected countries in Central Europe. The current research was conducted in 2019 on a total sample of 2800 respondents in the Czech Republic, Slovakia (Central Europe, with a relatively new organic food market), and Germany (a traditional Western Europe country with a mature food market). The study results demonstrate significant differences between the three selected markets. The product quality is the most important for German consumers. Slovak consumers consider organic food to be the least recognizable and least promoted of all the regions surveyed, and they are also the least likely to encounter targeted advertising for organic products. Germany is the country where most respondents regularly or occasionally buy organic food. In Slovakia, an interesting finding is the highest proportion of respondents who do not buy organic food at all. Czech respondents often buy organic products in specialized shops and like to grow organic products themselves. The results also suggest that Slovak consumers slightly more often prefer foreign organic products to the local ones, whereas consumers in Germany select regional organic products more often and prefer to buy regional products at farmers' markets. The main objective of this paper was to find similarities among eight Slovak regions from the viewpoint of five specialized day surgery fields and among specialized day surgery fields from the viewpoint of Slovak regions on the basis of day surgery operated and hospitalized patient counts. Day surgery data of paediatric patients and of adult patients from the National Health Information Centre during the years 2009-2017 were used. Correspondence analysis in two dimensions of the Slovak regions and of specialized day surgery fields was applied in order to achieve the paper's objective. The Košice Region differs most from the overall national average in both groups of paediatric day surgery. This is caused by its largest proportions in the fields of Gynaecology (29.7%) and Urology (48.0%) (operated patients), and in the fields of Gynaecology (60.5%) and Surgery (21.6%) (hospitalized patients). The most different specialized day surgery fields from overall average are: Urology (operated paediatric patients), Gynaecology (hospitalized paediatric patients), Otorhinolaryngology (operated adult patients) and Ophthalmology (hospitalized adult patients). Urogenital system day surgery procedures (Gynaecology, Urology) are separated from other three fields (i.e., Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology) either in the first or in the second dimension of the singular value matrix decomposition., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflict of interest.

Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between alcohol-related mortality in Slovak regions, as represented by Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) III level., Methods: We used data from mortality reports spanning 1996-2017 in the Slovak Republic. Data was provided by the National Health Information Centre in Slovakia. We applied two-dimensional correspondence analysis where the dimensions are regions and selected alcohol-related deaths diagnoses are classified by the International Classification of Diseases., Results: Analysis revealed a relationship between the Prešov region and diagnoses I42 - Cardiomyopathy and K29 - Alcoholic gastritis. Furthermore, the Banská Bystrica and Žilina regions correspond to G31 - Degeneration of nervous system due to alcohol and K86 - Alcohol-induced chronic pancreatitis. In the case of K70 - Alcoholic liver disease - the Banská Bystrica, Trenčín and Nitra regions are identified as regions which have an intermediate relationship with this diagnosis. The Trnava region corresponds to F10 - Acute alcohol intoxication. The Trenčín and Nitra regions correspond closely to G62 - Alcoholic polyneuropathy. Perfect correspondence can be seen between the Košice region and K73 - Chronic hepatitis, not elsewhere classified. K74 - Fibrosis and cirrhosis of liver diagnosis also corresponds with the Košice region., Conclusions: The results of this analysis provide valuable insights for national and regional health policymakers in the process of preparing high-quality health regional plans, as well as retrospectively assessing the success of existing health policies and interventions in this area. Facts presented in the study justify the need for specialised health care, which is part of the process of building an Integrated Health Care Centre in Slovakia.

Objective: Alcohol use is one of the ten most common risk factors threatening global health that is avoidable (ranked fifth after smoking). It is involved in high rates of liver cirrhosis, epilepsy, hypertension, cerebrovascular and mental illness. Negative consequences of family and social drinking are also very significant. The aim of the study is to quantify the gender and age-differentiated disparities in alcohol-related mortality in the population over 16 years between the years 1996-2017 in Slovakia., Methods: We used data from mortality reports within 1996-2017 provided by the National Health Information Centre in the Slovak Republic. We applied two-dimensional correspondence analysis where dimensions are age and chosen causes of deaths induced by use of alcohol and classified by the International Classification of Diseases., Results: In case of males, we found that K74 - Fibrosis and cirrhosis of liver diagnosis almost perfectly corresponds to age 66-75 years, and we documented strong correspondence between K70 - Alcoholic liver disease and age 46-55 years. For females, the most robust finding is that K70 - Alcoholic liver disease corresponds relatively similarly with age groups 26-35, 36-45, 46-55. The results of the analysis allow us to obtain a detailed overview of the development of mortality in individual alcohol diagnoses and their intervention in individual age groups by gender. Mortality for some diagnoses affects the young female as well as male population. We observed that there are systematic differences in alcohol-induced mortality between males and females., Conclusions: In such development of the alcohol-related mortality structure, the priority remains the permanent provision of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention at the individual and population level. The results of our analysis represent a valuable platform for health and social policymakers to develop quality national and regional health strategies aimed at eliminating the consequences of alcohol use. Lessons learned from our analysis will be supported by our other geographically oriented analytical lines to link identified and quantified regional disparities in the mortality of alcohol diagnoses to the availability of health care to treat these diseases.
