Abstract

The article discusses how temporary camps erected by campaigning armies have the potential to provide a more detailed perceptiveness into the maneuvering of the Roman army as it tried to complete the conquest of Great Britain. An overview of the methods used to date camps is presented. Camps are the primary archaeological source for Roman conquest of territories where its first invasion of Scotland took place in the latter part of the 1st century AD.
