After nearly seven years of severing diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and after nearly two decades of deteriorating relations between the two countries, China succeeded in bringing both parties together to restore their relations that could open a new phase in the relations among countries of the Gulf region in particular, and the Middle East in general, which will affect the political, economic and humanitarian scene and put an end to the sharp deterioration of the region since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, which contributed in worsening the Saudi-Iranian relations, and led the Middle East into wars, violence and the spread of terrorism, noting that the region might need decades to get out of its economic, social and political repercussions.
