Charged with the task of developing a lasting commemorative display to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of St Paul's Hospital (SPH), a talented team of individuals worked together to create a visual experience that has been described by many as 'simply breath-taking'. The team was provided with was a budget and a mandate from the hospital's board of directors to create a 'permanent legacy, physical structural artwork' to commemorate the hospital's 100th anniversary and a little more than two years to complete the project. Selecting the appropriate medium to convey the many diverse stories and messages, one that would survive for another 100 years yet be effective, was a challenge that the team embraced with great enthusiasm. This paper will describe in detail the creative process of the SPH Legacy Murals from concept to completion, highlighting the challenges, the many choices, and the outcome. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
