The article recreates, within its biographical path, Leone Mucci's activism towards Italian emigrants and his integration into Italian leftist circles in the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century. Leone Mucci, a socialist lawyer, linked to Capitanata, lived in Boston area between 1908 and 1913, taking part actively to the events connected to Italian emigration in that period, particularly his involvement in Caruso-Ettor-Giovannitti case. Leone Mucci has continued to have an important role when he returned to Italy, keeping on dealing with the various problems regarding Italian Americans: from Sacco and Vanzetti case to the opposition to American restrictive policies regarding immigration up to the voting right for Italian emigrants abroad. A political activism that, even as a member of Rome Parliament, is projected well beyond the national sphere, acquiring a strong transnational perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
