The social work system in Romania began to gain momentum 34 years ago, when the communist period ended, being generated and urgented due to the complexity and large number existing of social and economic problems. Social services were almost non-existent, and social workers were lacked from formal recognition of the profession, occupying posts in other administrative positions. Currently, social work has begun to be more valued and appreciated, so that during the COVID-19 pandemic, this branch has come to occupy the same place as the other related fields, from line I. The COVID-19 pandemic has generated many challenges with whom the social workers have never met, having to find the fastest and most effective methods for supporting people in difficulty. As for the homeless, the work of social workers was very difficult, as a result of the insufficient social services intended for this category, or even the refusal ofsome to access some services. Social workers, even if the pandemic created many problems for them, both physical and mental, were an important resource in providing support, creating effective mechanisms to maintain a balance at the community level. The general perception is that the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the biggest challenges for the health system. While touching every aspect of life, the COVID-19 pandemic has requested a prompt response from the health system and other structures and coordination systems that intervene in daily activity. The data presented were obtained following the application of a questionnaire to the average care staff of the Pascani Municipal Emergency Hospital, which monitored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their professional activity and emotional state. The results revealed not only feelings of panic, fear, and worry but also determination and stubbornness in the fight against the disease. The results of the study indicated the adherence of the medical staff to initiatives that promote a holistic approach to the patient, addressing all the patient's sufferings (physical, psychological, social, or spiritual), as well as finding new ways of relieving, treating, and healing them. The therapeutic act was difficult to fulfill because it had to consider the COVID-19 protocols, modified in dynamics, and applied to patients and staff. The use of complete protective equipment, as well as other adjustments to the working conditions, were perceived as an additional effort. To achieve this desideratum, teamwork, continuous medical education of the medical staff, and efficient communication between the medical assistant-nurse team with the patient and their relatives were of particular importance. Clear, transparent communication on the patient's actual clinical condition and prognosis to his family members is essential to avoid and overcome possible conflictual situations. Women entrepreneurs create new jobs for themselves and others. This also applies to entrepreneurial men. The difference is that, women entrepreneurs think differently about the business, they have different solutions compared to men in organizing and solving business challenges, as well as in terms of capitalizing on opportunities. Women, when setting up their own business, most often pursue and social goals and have visions with a positive impact on the community. Academic studies argue that, in Romania, women are rather motivated to open a business because of the need for independence and professional fulfillment, which they do not find in the workplace, while men are driven by the need for control and the desire to face new challenges. Sociological studies show that women-led businesses are 14% more focused on opportunities and initiatives, 10% more focused on ethics and integrity, 9% more focused on efficiency and effectiveness and 8% more active in employee development. School can become the place of education and training of women entrepreneurs, but also the place where women who own a business can become involved (if they wish) in the growth of future generations of entrepreneurs. The paper presents aspects of women's entrepreneurship, which is considered one of the challenges of the 21st century, and which, if developed, can contribute to creating a better world. In the present context of globalisation and information technology, it has become almost impossible to perceive the world as being a body of disparate units. On the contrary, not only do these units coexist, but they interact and merge with other realities. Nowadays, translators and conference interpreters play an important role worldwide. Their job has become more and more challenging because of the IT tools and strong competition in the field. It is worth noticing that there have been many changes during the transition period from communism to capitalism and, particularly, after Romania's accession to the European Union in 2007. Translators and interpreters have to face the challenges of quality, efficiency, deadlines, proficiency, and ethics. This article intends to outline the consulting services offered for small and middle enterprises on the Romanian market. Reference is made to the offer of the consulting services companies on the market and to the way the Romanian small and medium enterprises are informed about this offer, and to the way in which they get in touch with the consulting companies in order to use the consultancies offered. A short evolution will be presented of the consulting services on the Romanian market and the type of the consulting services offered on the market. The paper also presents a short review about the small and medium enterprises from Romania, focusing on the development of these enterprises in the eight development regions of Romania. This paper is offering a presentation of the energy market in Romania by analyzing its characteristics before and after the fall of communism. Becoming a member of the European Union brought many challenges for our country on different levels, the restructuring of the energy market being one of them. The final aim of the European Union is to create a common European energy market based on sustainable development where the consumers would benefit from quality services and lower prices. An insight on how the market is currently functioning in Romania is provided together with a presentation of the new challenges we have to face in reaching a fully liberalized energy market.
