The social work system in Romania began to gain momentum 34 years ago, when the communist period ended, being generated and urgented due to the complexity and large number existing of social and economic problems. Social services were almost non-existent, and social workers were lacked from formal recognition of the profession, occupying posts in other administrative positions. Currently, social work has begun to be more valued and appreciated, so that during the COVID-19 pandemic, this branch has come to occupy the same place as the other related fields, from line I. The COVID-19 pandemic has generated many challenges with whom the social workers have never met, having to find the fastest and most effective methods for supporting people in difficulty. As for the homeless, the work of social workers was very difficult, as a result of the insufficient social services intended for this category, or even the refusal ofsome to access some services. Social workers, even if the pandemic created many problems for them, both physical and mental, were an important resource in providing support, creating effective mechanisms to maintain a balance at the community level.
