One of the most important indicators for increasing productivity is OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). In order to analyze OEE indicator, some typically performance rates have been established: quality rate, availability rate of equipment for manufacturing and performance rate. The paper presents computing methods for establishing and improving of the indicators, which reflect the actual production process, in comparison with the reference indicators. Generally, the researches revealed about 65% for OEE in the Romanian automotive high-precision parts industry, smaller than the standard OEE value for optimum manufacturing process, which is between 85-90%. In the context of new geopolitical tensions due to the current armed conflicts, safety in terms of navigation has been threatened due to the large number of sea mines placed, in particular, within the sea conflict areas. Additionally, since a large number of mines have recently been reported to have drifted into the territories of the Black Sea countries such as Romania, Bulgaria Georgia and Turkey, which have intense commercial and tourism activities in their coastal areas, the safety of those economic activities is threatened by possible accidents that may occur due to the above-mentioned situation. The use of deep learning in a military operation is widespread, especially for combating drones and other killer robots. Therefore, the present research addresses the detection of floating and underwater sea mines using images recorded from cameras (taken from drones, submarines, ships and boats). Due to the low number of sea mine images, the current research used both an augmentation technique and synthetic image generation (by overlapping images with different types of mines over water backgrounds), and two datasets were built (for floating mines and for underwater mines). Three deep learning models, respectively, YOLOv5, SSD and EfficientDet (YOLOv5 and SSD for floating mines and YOLOv5 and EfficientDet for underwater mines), were trained and compared. In the context of using three algorithm models, YOLO, SSD and EfficientDet, the new generated system revealed high accuracy in object recognition, namely the detection of floating and anchored mines. Moreover, tests carried out on portable computing equipment, such as Raspberry Pi, illustrated the possibility of including such an application for real-time scenarios, with the time of 2 s per frame being improved if devices use high-performance cameras.

Background Previous genome-wide association studies (GWAS) identified IGF1, IRS1, GCKR, PPARG, GCK1 and KCTD1 as candidate genes for insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes (T2D). We investigated the associations of these previously reported common variants in these genes with insulin resistance in overweight children from Romania and Moldova. Methods Six single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), IGF1 (rs35767), IRS1 (rs2943634), GCKR (rs780094), PPARG (rs1801282), GCK1 (rs1799884) and KCTD15 (rs29941), were genotyped in 100 overweight children along with clinical and metabolic parameters. Homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) above 3.4 (defining insulin resistance) was used as the outcome. Results Children differed in insulin resistance status despite having similar body mass index (BMI) standard deviation scores (SDS) (World Health Organization, [WHO] reference). The identified predictors for altered insulin metabolism were higher cholesterol levels, higher diastolic blood pressure and higher waist-to-hip-ratio (as a marker for increased abdominal fat). None of the SNPs showed significant association with increase in the risk for insulin resistance in children (p range=0.478-0.724; odds ratio [OR] range=1.924-4.842); however, the risk allele in GCKR (rs780094, p=0.06, OR=6.871) demonstrated near statistical significance. Conclusions The interrogated risk alleles did not show any significant association with insulin resistance in children in our cohort; however, the GCKR (rs780094) might be a viable candidate in larger cohorts. The lack of replication of the proposed association may point to differences in linkage disequilibrium or effect modifiers across studies.

Introduction: The radical treatment of the gastric cancer consist in large gastric resections and lymphadenectomy. Resection line involvement at microscopic histopathological examination (R1) could change prognostic unfavorable., Material and Methods: They were 135 patients with gastric cancer operated between 2006-2007, with radical gastric resections and lymphadenectomy. In 3 patients with early gastric cancer and 23 patients with different stages of cancers, histopathological examination showed resection line involvement. From this study were eliminated the patients with stage IV cancers in whom resections were palliative., Results: Incidence of positive resection line involvement was 19,25%. 88,46% of the tumors were staged pT2 and pT3 and the majority was poorly differentiated or undifferentiated (G3 and G4). Lymphatic involvement (pN1 or pN2) was demonstrated in 18 (69,23%0 patients with R1. Perioperative complications were encountered in 15,38% of this patients, with 7,69% mortality., Conclusions: Presence of tumoral tissue at resection line level could decrease survival in this patients. Therapeutic protocol in patients with resection line involvement (re-laparotomy with re-resection or surveillance) must be establish in accordance with several factors: T and N category, risks of another surgical interventions, patients acceptance.

Purpose: We analyzed the clinical results of different techniques of resection for malignant colorectal (primary or staged) obstruction., Methods: The subjects of this retrospective nonrandomized clinical study were 165 patients with malignant colorectal occlusion who underwent surgery treatment in our Department between 2002-2006. Patients with peritonitis or treated by means of permanent colostomy, palliative anastomosis, primary Hartman resection and rectal excision were excluded., Results: Patients with large bowel obstruction caused by obstructive malignant colorectal lesions underwent either one-stage primary resection with anastomosis (77 patients) or staged interventions (88 patients). There were no differences in age, sex, comorbidities, tumor staging, serum preoperative levels of hemoglobin and proteins between the two groups of patients defined by the different surgical techniques. Regarding mortality and morbidity following surgical treatment for large bowel obstruction no significant difference among the two groups (p > 0.05) or the fistula rate (p = 0.435) was obtained. Moreover, results showed a higher incidence of mortality (11.8% vs 7.8%), morbidity (13.6 vs 10.4) and increased hospitalization period (p = 0.03) among the patients that undergone series resections., Conclusions: One stage primary resections with anastomosis of the large bowel can be performed safely in case of emergency whenever patient comorbidities and local conditions do not stand as major restrictions.

Many studies reported various associations between HLA antigens and tuberculosis, depending on race, ethnic group and geographic area., Aim: Our purpose was to identify HLA class I antigens inducing susceptibility to tuberculosis in population from North-Eastern Romania., Patients and Methods: The study group consisted of 50 tuberculosis patients and the control group included 90 healthy people. HLA-A and HLA-B antigens were determined using the CDC-NIH (complement-dependent-cytotoxicity-National Institute of Health) assay. A comparison was made between the frequency of HLA antigens expression in the two studied groups., Results: HLA-B18 and HLA-A29(19) were expressed more frequently in tuberculosis patients. The difference was statistically significant only for HLA-B18 antigen. HLA-B7 and -B61(40) antigens were expressed with statistically significant higher frequency in controls compared to tuberculosis patients. The frequency of other HLA-A and HLA-B antigens was either comparable in the two groups or without statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS We found a positive association between HLA-B18 antigen and tuberculosis, while HLA-B7 and HLA-B61(40) antigens seem to protect against the disease.

Unlabelled: The aim of the study was to identify HLA class I types associated with susceptibility to psoriasis among population of Northeast region of Romania., Patients and Methods: 27 psoriatic patients and 89 controls were typed serologically for HLA-A and HLA-B lymphocyte expression using CDC-NIH (complement dependent-cytotoxicity--National Institute of Health) method. The Terasaki plates used for HLA class I typing were prepared in our laboratory using antisera of known specificities., Results and Conclusions: psoriatic patients in the group of study frequently express HLA-B57 phenotype. The relative risk induced by this phenotype was highly statistically significant (p = 0.0016) while HLA-B13 was not associated with a significant risk for developing psoriasis in patients under study compared with controls (p = 0.48). Also, HLA-B27 (p = 0.96) and HLA-B44 (p = 0.99), reported by others to be associated with late psoriasis, do not meet (a particular) disease susceptibility between psoriatic patients under investigation.

Arterial hypertension in adolescents was studied in a group of 899 school boys aged 15-18 years from the vocational school No. 48 of the Bucharest Transport Enterprise (ITB) and the secondary school No. 19 ITB. Essential arterial hypertension in the group investigated was found in proportion of 2.7%, a percentage comparable with that of other European countries (1-3%).
