The labour law - a branch and science of the Romanian law system - has come a long way to the present days, when it fully manifests its specificity and autonomy that characterizes it. The doctrine evokes a „labour contract" concluded according to rules of the Roman law. In the Middle Ages, the Romanian principalities did not know regulations regarding legal labour relations. It was only in the Civil Code of 1864 that there were established specific regulations of some civil contracts which included some elements of some labour relations. The appearance and development of the industry determined, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the adoption of some legal norms aimed at the protection of workers. The labour legislation was invigorated due to the rules of the International Labour Organization, established in 1919. Our country, as a founding member, has ratified the essential conventions of this organization in the interwar period, but also later, to the present days. About a labour law, distinct, autonomous in Romania, one can speak only after the entry into force of the Labour Code of 1950. The development of the Romanian society, its economic and social level have also determined the evolution of the labour legislation and of the labour law, as it will be shown in the elaborated study. In November 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris have brought forth a topical issue. If in recent years it seemed that terrorism was taking place especially in areas heavily influenced by ISIS, such as Iraq and Syria, it seems that recently they turn their attention to European countries and beyond. This resulted not only now, but also over time to take legal and military measures to stop this phenomenon. Blurring this phenomenon is a lengthy process, which may not ever be completed, radicals have been in all of human history. Thus interstate cooperation develops for combating terrorism, in legal terms there are numerous international conventions and protocols. And in Romania in February 2014 we enjoy a law regarding preventing and combating terrorism and national authority in this area, the Romanian Information Service, made efforts to secure the country and to remain at low levels of the national terrorist alert. More and more often, marriages are concluded between people of different nationalities, which brings an extraneous dimension to the legal status and matrimonial property regime jurisdiction conflict. Many European states (among which Romania, through its new Civil Code) offer the advantage of clauses that could be used by any of the spouses, with regard to the applicable law. In case of divorce, consequences differ with the applicable law. Spouses who divorce and divide their assets based on the applicable law, can revoke the advantages they had initially consented to each other. Thus, the law applicable to the matrimonial property regime can be that of the state of the spouses, if they are nationals of the same state, except for the case where the future spouses choose otherwise. If they are nationals of different states, the law applicable to matrimonial property regime can be that of the state of their first habitual residence after marriage. Upon cessation of community, depending on the state where the divorce takes place, each spouse has the right to regain possession of his/her own assets, if they still exist, or of the assets replacing them. The Romanian legislation, through its new civil provisions, promotes a more modern and open approach with regard to the option at the disposal of the spouses when choosing the applicable matrimonial property regime and managing community property or asset distribution. The verification of compliance by States of the rights and guarantees stated by the European Convention on Human Rights is the mission of the European Court of Human Rights. In the Romanian law system, the Convention is directly applicable and is a natural link between the rights and freedoms that states the requirements of a democratic society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The evolution of the dramatic texts published by Th. Mănescu and Silvia Andreescu present a peculiar characteristic: most of them are apolitical and not representative for Romanian playwriting in general, with the exception of one play that draws upon the dramatic experience that Romanian villages underwent during collectivization: The Pyre [Rugul] (Silvia Andreescu & Th. Mănescu, 1961). When reading the dramatic texts of the two collaborators, one can easily notice that this drama is written after a Proletcultist play, Nepotrivire [Disagreement] (Th. Mănescu and Silvia Andreescu, 1956) and before another Proletcultist play, Vecinii [The Neighbours] (Silvia Andreescu & Th. Mănescu, 1962) - a fact which we regard as a consequence of the pressure imposed by censorship upon these writers. The thematic oscillation of Th. Mănescu and Silvia Andreescu is, in general, illustrative for the 'fate' of Romanian culture created under totalitarianism, whose evolution records both cases of compromise and dissidence. The need to conclude bilateral agreements on avoidance of double taxation is determined by the fact that national tax regulations differ from state to state. In the same time unilateral tax measures adopted by national law to avoid double taxation don't correspond to tax legislation of all countries with which Romania has economic relations. To avoid double taxation, our country uses both the national rules and conventions for the avoidance of double taxation concluded with partner countries. Although not a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Romania implemented the law provisions of the OECD Model Convention. Thus, national legislation on taxation of income obtained from Romania by non-residents and those obtained by Romanian residents abroad is constantly improved, showing the permanent concern of the authorities to harmonize and update national legislation in line with international economic realities. Romania has concluded so far double taxation conventions with more than 80 countries, using the general rules, solutions and methods of avoiding double taxation from the OECD Model Convention, because its attention is focused on the conclusion of agreements especially with OECD members and their close states.
