Purpose: Foresight J's journey started in 1999, and in 2022, it marked the conclusion of its 24 years of publication. This paper aims to provide an overall overview of important research trends published in Foresight J between 1999 and 2022 by conducting a quantitative analysis of the journal's literature. The overarching goal is to provide valuable insights into the dynamics of scholarly communication, aiding researchers, institutions and policymakers in assessing the significance and influence of academic work, guiding future research directions and academic evaluation. Design/methodology/approach: The two bibliometrics methodologies that make up the methodology of this article are scientific mapping and performance analysis. Authors have explained the development and composition of the Foresight J using these methods. The SCOPUS database is being used in current research to analyse several dimensions, such as the evolution of publications by year, the most cited papers, core authors and researchers, leading countries and prolific institutions. Moreover, the conceptual structure, scope, burst detection and co-occurrence analysis of the journal are mapped using network visualization software such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace and RStudio. Findings: With a strong track record of output over the years, Foresight J has continued to develop in terms of publications. It is determined that "Saritas" is the author with the greatest overall impact. However, according to SCOPUS bibliometric data, "Blackman" and "Richardson" are the authors with the greatest relevance in terms of the quantity of articles. In addition, it becomes apparent that the USA, Australia and the UK are very productive nations in terms of publications. The most popular fields of the journal have always been forecasting, foresight, scenario planning, strategic planning, decision-making, technology and sustainable development. These are also the author keywords that appear the most frequently. In contrast, new study themes in the Foresight J include digital technologies, innovation, sustainability, blockchain, artificial intelligence and sustainability. Research limitations/implications: Several noteworthy research implications are provided by the bibliometric study of Foresight J. "Saritas" is the author with the most overall impact, indicating that the precise contributions and influence of this researcher in the fields of forecasting, foresight and related fields. Given that "Blackman" and "Richardson" are well-known writers, it is also critical to examine the scope and complexity of their contributions to potentially identify recurring themes or patterns in their writing. The geographic productivity results, which show that the USA, Australia and the UK are the top three countries for Foresight J publications, may encourage more research into regional differences, patterns of collaboration and the worldwide distribution of research endeavours in the context of forecasting and foresight. Popular fields including scenario planning, forecasting, foresight and sustainable development are consistent, indicating persistent research interests. Examining the causes of these subjects' ongoing relevance can reveal information about the consistency and development of scholarly interests over time. Practical implications: Foresight J's bibliometric analysis has real-world applications for many stakeholders. It helps editors and publishers make strategic decisions about outreach and content by providing insights regarding the journal's influence. Assessing organizational and author productivity helps institutions allocate resources more effectively. Policymakers acquire an instrument to evaluate research patterns and distribute funds efficiently. In general, bibliometric study of a journal helps decisionmakers in academic publishing make well-informed choices that maximize the potential of options for authors, editors, institutions and policymakers. Social implications: The societal ramifications of bibliometrically analysing Foresight J from 1999 and 2022 are substantial. This analysis highlights, over the past 24 years, research trends, technological developments and societal priorities have changed by methodically looking through the journal's articles. Gaining knowledge about the academic environment covered by the journal can help raise public awareness of important topics and promote critical thinking. In addition, the analysis can support evidence-based decision-making by alerting decision makers to the influential research that was published in Foresight J. This could have an impact on the course of policies pertaining to innovation, technology and societal development. Originality/value: This study presents a first comprehensive article that provides a general overview of the main trends and patterns of the research over the Foresight J's history since its inception. Oscillations in option price convergence have long been a problematic aspect of tree methods, inhibiting the use of repeated Richardson extrapolation that could otherwise greatly accelerate convergence, a feature integral to some of the most efficient modern methods. These oscillations are typically caused by the fluctuating positions of nodes around the discontinuities in the payoff function or its derivatives. Our paper addresses this crucial gap that typically prohibits the use of lattice methods when high efficiency is needed. Focusing on double barrier options, we develop a trinomial tree in which the positions of the nodes are precisely adjusted to align with these discontinuities throughout the option's lifespan and across various time steps. This alignment enables the use of repeated extrapolation to achieve high order convergence, including near barriers, a well-known challenge in many tree methods. In the presented paper, two different meshing strategies are compared to show the accuracy advantage of properly constructed mesh. For this purpose, it was necessary to automatize simulation process, in order to perform a number of calculations without the necessity of user interaction. Later, a method of results extrapolation as well as a way of judging mesh quality are introduced for more throughout comparison of presented discretization strategies. The latter method, called grid convergence index, is also used to calculate probability range of accurate result. To conclude, outcomes of this study are in agreement with general opinon on pracitces for an accurate CFD result. Structured O-type mesh with refinement at wall boundaries (often referred to as "inflation layers") performs better than simple free mesh. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study employs Richardson extrapolation on mixed quadrature rule which is imbraided by Lobatto-4-point rule (RLA(f)) with Gauss-Legendre-3-point rule (RGL3 (f)) to form the extrapolatory quadrature rule (RRLAG13 (f)) Of precision nine. An efficient and high-order numerical method is presented for solving a time-space-fractional reaction-diffusion equation. Matrix transfer technique based on fourth-order compact finite differences is first used to discretize the space-fractional Laplacian operator which results in a system with a linear stiff term. Then, an implicit-explicit (IMEX) trapezoidal product-integration rule is implemented for time integration which treats the stiff linear term implicitly and non-linear non-stiff term explicitly. The stability and convergence of the method are analyzed. Due to the discontinuity of the solution derivative at t = 0 , the numerical method is only 1 + α order accurate in time where α is the order of the time-fractional derivative. Richardson extrapolation is introduced to obtain a modified version of the method which is second order accurate in time. A fast algorithm based on discrete sine transform is also implemented to reduce the cost of computing the discretized space-fractional Laplacian operator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Rawinsonde observations have long been used to estimate the atmospheric boundary layer depth (BLD), which is an important parameter for monitoring air quality, dispersion studies, weather forecast models, and inversion systems for estimating regional surface–atmosphere fluxes of tracers. Although many approaches exist for deriving the BLDs from rawinsonde observations, the bulk Richardson approach has been found to be most appropriate. However, the impact of errors in the measured thermodynamic and kinematic fields on the estimated BLDs remains unexplored. We argue that quantifying BLD error (δBLD) estimates is equally as important as the BLDs themselves. Here we quantified δBLD by applying the bulk Richardson method to 35 years of rawinsonde data obtained from three stations in the United States: Sterling, Virginia; Amarillo, Texas; and Salt Lake City, Utah. Results revealed similar features in terms of their respective errors. A −2°C bias in temperature yielded a mean δBLD ranging from −15 to 200 m. A +2°C bias in temperature yielded a mean δBLD ranging from −214 to +18 m. For a −5% relative humidity bias, the mean δBLD ranged from −302 to +7 m. For a +5% relative humidity bias, the mean δBLD ranged from +2 to +249 m. Differences of ±2 m s−1 in the winds yielded BLD errors of ~±300 m. The δBLD increased as a function of BLD when introducing errors to the thermodynamic fields and decreased as a function of BLD when introducing errors to the kinematic fields. These findings expand upon previous work evaluating rawinsonde-derived δBLD by quantifying δBLD arising from rawinsonde-derived thermodynamic and kinematic measurements. Covering path problems date from the pioneering work of Current et al. (1984, 1985). Two basic forms were defined in their work: the shortest covering path problem and the maximal covering shortest path problem. These two problems differ in that one requires complete coverage by the defined path and the other involves determining path alternatives which cover as much as possible while keeping the path length as short as possible. The latter of these two problems, the maximal covering shortest path problem, embodies the two major goals in transit planning: that is, finding efficient paths which serve as many people as possible. Often transit routes are restricted to major road segments, and when that occurs, routes do not compete with one another unless they overlap along a street segment or at an intersection. In addition, coverage distances can be quite small, barely extending to other streets. Given this type of situation, Curtin and Biba (2011) developed a model called TRANSMax (Transit Route Arc-Node Service Maximization), which maximizes node and arc service, where service coverage is defined for only those street and node segments that are part of a route. They based their model on a structure first proposed by Vajda (1961) in formulating and solving the traveling salesman problem. Because of this structure, we demonstrate that it is possible that a route generated by their original TRANSMax model may not be Pareto optimal with respect to both distance and access. In this paper, we develop a flexible TRANSMax model formulation that finds Pareto Optimal solutions when the original form does not. We also present computational experience in solving this new model on the same street network of Curtin and Biba involving Richardson, Texas. This application allows us to make comparisons between this work and the original work of Curtin and Biba. Overall, we show that this new model can identify new, improved routes over the existing TRANSMax model. • Cities often use loops in designing tranist routes. • TRANSMax prevents loops from being employed even when it may be optimal to do so. • A new model is presented that allows for the flexibility of embedded loops. • Solutions to this new model are often better than the original TRANSMax model. This article focuses on how the telecommunications industry is likely to alter the traditional tools and strategies that economic developers use to attract and retain firms. Several case studies reveal that there are several key components in trying to win with telecommunications. The strongest component in all five cases studied is vision. The city of Richardson, Texas encapsulated its vision in the slogan 'Texas Telecom Corridor.' In Singapore, the former prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, acted as visionary, using his governmental powers, to sell the idea. In Atlanta, Georgia, its was John Patrick Crecine of the Georgia Institute of Technology who touted a high technology olympics. Besides vision, three other elements played a central role. They are political strategies, technological executives and new network applications.

The article examines the use of the Test Cues Identification Questionnaire, a tool to identify by intensity and frequency of potent testing cues in science by Richardson, Texas. In this study, the researchers attempt to report potent testing cues that were identified by high-test-anxious (HTA) and low-test-anxious (LTA) students, identify differences between HTA and LTA students of attentional direction to testing and to report differences between HTA and LTA students of attentional direction to testing cues.
