Abstract

The article discusses the case of tuberculosis outbreak in a long-term care facility in the San Juan metropolitan area in Puerto Rico during July 2010-April 2012. The Mycobacterium tuberculosis genotype was identified in the outbreak. Residents of the facility were administered tuberculin skin tests, since the initial case was identified in July 2010. It cites contributing factors for the extended infectious periods
