"According to Lingaro's analysis, the return of a product generates 5 times more CO2 than the purchase itself. Thus, the optimization of online e-commerce purchasing processes is a serious challenge not only for business, but mainly for the protection of the environment and our global health." Presentation of textiles and clothing in e-commerce in Poland has remained unchanged since the beginning of e-commerce (the setup of Allegro auction site in the early 2000s) until now with little exceptions of new technology trends powered by EU funds. In Poland, WearFits introduces an R&D solution in the form of a virtual fitting room presented in augmented reality (AR) view to decrease returns of textile clothing bought online. It uses an avatar of human size and shape of the customer's body for fitting the three-dimensional models in AR view. The purpose of the article is to review the state of the art of presentation of clothing textiles in e-commerce in the world and in Poland for selling textiles online and to emphasize the problem of size matching in the context of returns. OVERVIEW: The last 20 years mark a period of transformation from a traditional model of displaying archaeology to a more immersive model supported by digital and virtual media. The traditional model has generally used glass cases accompanied by extensive texts to inform visitors, whereas the immersive model employs digital media, tablets, virtual reality, and augmented reality to attract and engage a wide audience. In light of the recent enthusiasm for the latter, however, one must ask whether such immersive exhibitions are merely superficial means to make public institutions more attractive without having a meaningful impact on audience engagement. Polish archaeological museums provide interesting sites through which to explore this predicament. Here, digital upgrades are generously financed by national funds, so the traditional model of the archaeological museum in Poland is currently almost absent. In this short review, I aim to discuss one of the most interesting examples of temporary digital archaeological exhibitions organized between 2014 and 2019 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. I investigate its potential to engage audiences, ultimately concluding that it managed to create an interesting counterweight to traditional displays and respond to the drawbacks of new digital exhibitions through novel aesthetics and alternative archaeological storytelling. Immersive technologies like Virtual or Augmented Reality (VR/AR) are lately becoming more and more popular in wide range of scientific applications. These technologies provide the most immersive way to present spatial data such as point clouds or 3D models. This type of solutions also has significant potential for virtual presentation of cultural heritage. Combination of high-quality photogrammetric 3D models, virtual reality technologies and an advanced visualization engine may bring effect in the form of a nearly real-world experience which may be very useful in terms of popularization as well as research in the area of cultural heritage. The most ambitious visions of metaverse technology promise to create virtual places that offer the same possibilities as the real world. However, as any novel technology, the metaverse raises controversies and questions. Does one want to migrate to the metaverse? Does one's willingness to move to virtual worlds depend on the bonds with existing virtual places and the sense of threat related to this technology? To address these questions, we drew on the theories of place attachment and intergroup threat. In two studies – (1) among users of open-world games (N = 366) and (2) using a sample representative of the Polish population in terms of age, gender and size of the residential place (N = 995) – we observed a low level of willingness to migrate to the metaverse. The participants displayed a high level of perceived metaverse-related threat, ranging from privacy concerns to the belief that metaverse can deprive one of access to essential human experiences. However, greater attachment to virtual, as opposed to real, places was associated with both an increased willingness to migrate to the metaverse and a low level of perceived threat. The results provide a better understanding of individuals' perception of the metaverse and of how the bonds with virtual and real places translate into attitudes towards metaverse technology. • Most participants do not want to migrate to the metaverse. • Most respondents express a sense of threat associated with the further development of the metaverse. • Desire to migrate is positively related to attachment to existing virtual places and negatively to metaverse-related threat. • Attachment to virtual places is negatively associated with metaverse-related threat. The article presents a report from a June 11-13, 2015 conference in Oranienburg and Berlin, Germany on German and Polish memorials to Nazi war crimes hosted by the Sachsenhausen memorial and museum as well as the Berlin center for historical research at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Topics of presentations delivered Polish and German collective memories of the 20th century, the design and construction of verious sorts of memorials, and the use of an augmented reality system at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp memorial.
