The article presents a profile of 17th century Italian musician Angelo Sperati, with reference to the history of the Piedmont region in Italy, and with reference to the history of music associated with the Piedmont region. Topics discussed include background on the life and work of Sperati found in archival documents from the archive of the Parish of Duomo di Voghera; materials relating to Sperati contained in the state archive of Turin, and musical compositions written by Sperati, including works for the regional theater of Turin.
