The research addresses occupational burnout on university teachers, understood as progressive loss of energy, emotional exhaustion, fatigue, irritability, negative attitudes and feelings of dissatisfaction. The purpose of the study was to compare the presence of job burnout on teachers of the School of Education and Electronic Engineering from a Public University of Peru. It was developed according to principles of quantitative approach, transactional non-experimental design, and type of substantive, descriptive-comparative research. The sample was made up of 125 teachers from both faculties to which the Occupational Attendance Scale-EDO was administered. This instrument presented the required validity and reliability. The results obtained through the confirmatory factor model of structural equations, estimated through the asymptotic free distribution method, led to the conclusion that the teachers from the School of Education report greater emotional wear than teachers of the School of engineering.

This article addresses tutorial and citizen development in high school students, the objective was to establish the relationship between the tutorial action and the development of democratic and intercultural citizenship exercise competencies in fifth-grade students of the secondary level of public institutions of Network No. 06 of Callao. The research was quantitative, not experimental, descriptive correlational, basic and cross-sectional. The population was composed of 489 students, the sample being determined by 215 students, who were applied a questionnaire as a survey to collect information. The results show that there is a moderate and positive relationship between the tutorial action and the development of the competencies of the democratic and intercultural citizenship exercise, given that the Spearman's Rho is 0.404, with a significance value of p = 0.003 compared to the [alpha] = 0.05 where it is found that (p < [alpha]).

A key conservation biology tool is the information on the geographic distribution of species as well as the variables driving those patterns. Here, we used maximum entropy modeling, MaxEnt, to model the total potential distribution of Tapirus terrestris , classified as "Vulnerable" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. In this study, we recorded 117 occurrence records and considered 18 environmental variables. The total potential distribution area covers 96,055.6 km2, meaning 12.3 % of the territory of the Peruvian Amazon, with "high potential" habitat covering 3,891.36 km2, "moderate potential" habitat covering 22,849.5 km2, and "low potential" habitat covering 69,314.7 km2. Natural Protected Areas (NPAs) shelter 32.2 % (30,966.2 km2) of the total potential distribution area of the species, being the Bahuaja Sonene and Manu National Parks, the NPAs with the largest total potential distribution, 8,220.2 km2 and 7,619.7 km2 respectively. Eventually, 67.8 % (65,089.4 km2) of the total potential distribution were identified without any type of protection category by SINANPE and its complementary categories; therefore, we consider this area as a priority for the conservation of T. terrestris in Peru. Species distribution models (SDMs) provide conservationist with spatial distributions estimations of priority species. Lagothrix flavicauda (Humboldt, 1812), commonly known as the Yellow-tailed Woolly Monkey, is one of the largest primates in the New World. This species is endemic to the montane forests of northern Peru, in the departments of Amazonas, San Martín, Huánuco, Junín, La Libertad, and Loreto at elevation from1,000 to 2,800 m. It is classified as "Critically Endangered" (CR) by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as well as by Peruvian legislation. Furthermore, it is listed in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Research on precise estimates of its potential distribution are scare. Therefore, in this study we modeled the potential distribution area of this species in Peru, the model was generated using the MaxEnt algorithm, along with 80 georeferenced occurrence records and 28 environmental variables. The total distribution (high, moderate, and low) for L. flavicauda is 29,383.3 km2, having 3,480.7 km2 as high potential distribution. In effect, 22.64 % (6,648.49 km2) of the total distribution area of L. flavicauda is found within Natural Protected Areas (NPAs), with the following categories representing the largest areas of distribution: Protected Forests (1,620.41 km2), Regional Conservation Areas (1,976.79 km2), and Private Conservation Areas (1,166.55 km2). After comparing the predicted distribution with the current NPAs system, we identified new priority areas for the conservation of the species. Despite several measures that have been taken to promote the conservation of the Peruvian Amazon, several reports exhibited that forest cover loss was still occurring. To combat against deforestation and landscape change, the Peru government has created Protected Areas (PAs) to maintain floral diversity, conserve forests and environmental services. Along with tremendous anthropogenic pressures, billions of dollars have been spent every year to promote and save the PAs, yet rigorous quantified evaluation and interpretation of such PAs are lacking. Considering such knowledge gap, we have quantified the forest loss under the PAs and their buffer areas over the last 20 years (2001–2019) have been performed using Google Earth Engine. Furthermore, the potential deforestation risk zones were identified using the Maximum Entropy based predictive modelling. Outcome showed that the forest cover losses within the PAs were 114,463 ha and 782,781 ha within the buffer zones in the last 20 years. Additionally, high deforestation risk zones were mainly found in the central and southwestern parts of the Peruvian Amazon and interestingly close to the navigable riverbanks. We have received high prediction accuracy (AUC 0.964) and further validated with high-resolution PlanetScope imageries. This study will be useful for policy interventions and conservation measures. Objective: To demonstrate the usefulness of the Baylor score in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGB) due to peptic ulcer, in terms of mortality and recurrent bleeding at 30 days follow-up., Material and Methods: This study has collected information prospectively into a registration form from medical histories. Patients included were those who came to the "Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia", Lima, Peru, in the period between June 2009 and May 2011, with UGB due to peptic ulcer demonstrated by endoscopy. The data was analyzed with the ROC curve (Receiver Operating Characteristic)., Results: We included 181 from 380 patients with UGB (47.63%), 74% were male, mean age 56 years old; 20 patients died during follow-up: 8 due to gastrointestinal bleeding and 12 from other causes, 10 patients had recurrence of bleeding during a 30 days follow-up. When performing the analysis of the ROC curve with the Baylor score and mortality, it was reported IC 95% value of 0.89 (0.83-0.95), with recurrence of bleeding an IC 95% value of 0.81 (0.68-0.93) and need for transfusion of over two globular packages an IC 95% value of 0.79 (0.70-0.86)., Conclusions: Baylor score is a good predictor of mortality and recurrence of bleeding during the first 30 days after a first episode of an upper gastrointestinal bleeding and an acceptable predictor of the need to transfuse more than two globular packages during hospitalization.

Unlabelled: During the first 6 weeks after a variceal hemorrhage there is a 30-40% of probability of recurrence and those who rebleed 20- 30% die. Passed this period, the risk of rebleeding is of 60% and reaches a mortality of 60-70% in two years without treatment., Objective: Describe the frequency of rebleeding and mortality due to rebleeding in cirrhotic patients treated for variceal hemorrhage at Endoscopic Centers of Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru and Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza, Lima, Peru during the years 2009-2011., Materials and Methods: The study type is a transversal, periodic and retrospective one in which were included 176 cirrhotic patients older than 14 years who have bleed for esophageal varices and that have received endoscopic therapy. The instruments used were a data sheet with all the information obtained from the clinical chart of each patient, the CHILD score to assess severity of hepatic disease, endoscopic informs and phone calls., Results: The frequency of rebleeding before 6 weeks was 32.20% (56 patients). Also, the frequency of rebleeding after that time was 22.56% (37 patients). There was a mortality rate of 5.70% (10 patients) and a mortality rate due to rebleeding of 13.33% (6 patients)., Conclusions: Variceal hemorrhage is an important cause of mobimortality in peruvian people. The frequency of rebleeding and mortality due to rebleeding resulted slightly lower than in other countries.
