The article shares the story of Peter Williamson who, at eight years old, was kidnapped from a quayside in Aberdeen, Scotland and shipped abroad to be sold in 1738. It references the story on Williamson's book "French & Indian Cruelty, Exemplified in the Life & Various Vicissitudes of Peter Williamson." He was shipped to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and sold into seven years of indentured servitude for 16 British pounds. On October 2, 1754, his family home was attacked by native Indians and he was taken prisoner and brutally tortured.
