This article aims to explain the efforts of Aboge Muslims as a group that gains penetration from mainstream culture to negotiate their identity. Aboge (Alif Rebo Wage) is a Muslim group in Java that has a Kejawen Islamic identity. In Banyumas District, Central Java, the Aboge identity was built based on the Penginyongan culture whose position is a subculture of Javanese. Using a critical paradigm with the theoretical approach of genetic structuralism developed by Pierre Bourdieu, this article shows that Aboge identity negotiations are carried out by capitalizing on the Penginyongan culture as a locality that has a strategy in the era of regional and village autonomy. The result of this study reveals that Aboge takes the space left by the Banyumasan community because it is inferior to standard Javanese. This is because Penginyongan culture, which includes language, tradition, and religion, tends to be positioned as marginal, assumed to be deviant, and misrepresented. Standard culture uses the instrument of power that is owned to maintain its dominance through the formation of a stratified structure. This structure is used to distribute other variations at different positions with the epicenter point filled by the standard culture. In the context of language, bandek Javanese (Yogyakarta and Solo) is the standard, outside of which includes the North Coast, East Java, and Banyumasan are dialects. Locality gained momentum during the period of regional and village autonomy which demanded its development to explore and accommodate local culture. An area will experience rapid progress if local government alongside the community is able to develop local potential with various innovations. This study aims to describe the potential of nature and innovation by the government alongside the community based on Shariah when creating tourism destinations with economic value. The research was conducted in the coastal environment of Santen Island of Banyuwangi district, East Java with a qualitative approach to the research and case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. With interactive data analysis, it was found that the Shariah-based innovation conducted by the government of Banyuwangi together with the community in Santen island has the potential to create tourism that can improve the economy of the local society. Various plant species on Java Island are facing the threat of extinction. Dendrobium capra is an endemic orchid from East Java designated as a species with endangered status. This study aims to determine the distribution, population status, and microclimate conditions and update the conservation status of D. capra using the IUCN Red List Category and Criteria. The current population size, structure, distribution, and habitat preferences are presented. This study also investigates the phenology of D. capra for the propagation program and contributes to the latest updates on D. capra populations in their natural habitat. D. capra has an Area of Occupancy (AOO) value of 7.00 km2. These values meet criterion B (AOO < 10 km2), and D. capra is not found in conservation areas and has a very high risk of extinction in the wild. With only found in Bojonegoro regency, this study proposes assessing D. capra as a Critically Endangered (CR). [Display omitted] • Crustal anisotropy in the CEJ region is derived from shear wave splitting analysis. • The fast directions are NE-SW to N-S and largely follow the principal strain axis. • Active faults lead the fast directions to be parallel with the strike of structures. • The anisotropy of < 4% indicates that the crustal rocks maintain a high level of integrity. The subduction of the Indo-Australian plate underneath the Eurasian plate causes the crust of the Central and East Java region to experience long-term deformation. We have analysed shear wave splitting using waveforms from local events recorded at 30 broadband stations of the BMKG network from 2009 to 2020. We select the events that meet the criteria for the crustal anisotropy study, i.e., event depths<30 km with a radius of 150 km from each seismic station. We compare our results with the regional strain rates in Java, then divide the splitting analysis into three regions: (A) Central Java, (B) western East Java, and (C) easternmost Java and Bali region. The results show that region A has a predominant NE-SW of fast polarization and experiences a relatively small strain rate except for the region near Yogyakarta, where the average fast direction is parallel to the strike of the Opak Fault due to the structural-induced anisotropy. In region B, the fast directions are considerably parallel to the principal strain, suggesting stress-induced anisotropy. Meanwhile, in region C, the fast polarizations are parallel and subparallel to the predominant principal strain at Madura and Bali, suggesting stress-induced anisotropy caused by cracks and microcracks as a response to the local tectonic stress. Moreover, in the area between East Java and Bali, the orientation of fast directions is perpendicular relative to the principal axis, suggesting the presence of a fluid-filled fracture zone may contribute to the crustal anisotropy.
