The industries view green supply chain management (GSCM) as a viable means of achieving sustainable operations by reducing environmental impact and enhancing operational performance. Although conventional supply chains still dominate many industries, integrating eco-friendly practices through green supply chain management (GSCM) is crucial. Nonetheless, there are several barriers that hinder the successful adoption of GSCM practices. Therefore, this study proposes fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision-making approaches comprised of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS). The study evaluates and overcomes barriers to the adoption of GSCM practices in the textile manufacturing sector of Pakistan. After the comprehensive literature review, this study identifies 6 barriers, 24 sub-barriers, and 10 strategies. The FAHP method employs to analyze the barriers and sub-barriers. Then, the FTOPSIS method ranks the strategies to overcome various identified barriers. Based on the FAHP results, the most significant barriers to the adoption of GSCM practices are technological (MB4), financial (MB1), and information and knowledge (MB5). Further, the FTOPSIS indicates that increasing the research and development capacity (GS4) is the most vital strategy for implementing GSCM. The study's findings have important implications for policymakers, organizations, and other stakeholders interested in promoting sustainable development and implementing GSCM practices in Pakistan. Pakistan is facing a severe energy crisis since the last two decades, and yet the government has not been able to overcome this problem. Therefore, the various renewable energy resources of Sindh and Baluchistan province has been assessed to diversify the electricity generation from fossil fuels to renewable energy. In the study, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis has been employed to assess the internal and external factors which affect the renewable energy technologies in Sindh and Baluchistan province. Then, the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) method is used from the multi-perspective approach (i.e., economic, environmental, technical, and socio-political criteria). Therefore in the study, four criteria, seventeen sub-criteria and three renewable energy resources (i.e., solar, wind, and biomass) have been assessed as alternatives in the decision model. It is identified that economic and socio-political are the two most important criteria. Further results reveal that wind has ample potential to generate electricity in both (Sindh and Baluchistan) provinces, whereas solar and biomass energy ranked second and third, respectively. It is, therefore, suggested that the government should exploit renewable resources to mitigate the current energy crisis and increase energy security for sustainable development of the country. Nowadays, green supply chain management (SCM) practices are increasing among firms to adopt green practices and reduce the negative effects of supply chain operations on the environment. Firms such as manufacturing, mining, and agriculture have to improve their capacity in green SCM practices because environmental regulations force them to consider these issues. However, green practices are new and require comprehensive study to determine this problem. This study has taken the case of three garment manufacturing firms for the evaluation of green SCM practices in the context of Pakistan. The green SCM requires multi-dimensional techniques; therefore, fuzzy-based multi-criteria decision analysis approaches must be adopted while assessing green SCM practices of firms. This is because fuzzy-based methods obtain a significant solution for complex, vague, and uncertain multi-attribute problems in fuzzy environment. Therefore, in this study, a hybrid decision model comprised of Delphi, and Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodologies is proposed for assessing the green SCM practices of firms in terms of green design, green purchasing, green production, green warehousing, green logistics, and reverse logistics. The Fuzzy AHP method results reveal that "green purchasing," "green design," and "green production" are ranked the most important green indicators. Further, results reveal the ranking of manufacturing firms (alternatives) in the context of green SCM practices.
