The article reports on a 2015 study on whether a febrile neutropenia pathway (FNP) quality initiative project would reduce prolonged time to antibiotic administration (TTA) delays for febrile patients with cancer in the emergency department (ED). Results show that FNP use reduced TTA delays. It also states that ED FNP is a quality and sustainable intervention and was able to demonstrate value by decreasing TTA.
