The authors reflect on the significance of the publicly funded electronic knowledge service called the Norwegian Electronic Health Library (NEHL). They cite several services provided by the library, which was launched as part of the Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services in June 2006. They examine the type of knowledge provided by the NEHL and the challenges to the achievement of a clear and clean knowledge by clinicians. The authors also discuss two main categories under which the library's content is organised.
