Abstract

The article presents a study on the long term clinical outcomes on the use of hemiarthroplasty for glenohumeral osteoarthritis at the Center for Shoulder, Elbow and Sports Medicine in Columbia University Medical Center in New York. It involves 30 patients with glenohumeral osteoarthritis who were treated with shoulder hemiarthrosplasty, with 25 available for long-term follow-up. It found that only 25% of the patients were satisfied with their outcome after an average follow-up of 17 years.
