Abstract

The article offers information on a randomized single blind controlled study which investigated whether accidental falls in older multifocal glasses wearers could be prevented by giving single lens distance glasses. Participants were randomly selected from nursing home communities in the Sydney and Illawarra regions of New South Wales. Main outcome measure was the frequency of falls and injuries from falls during 13 months of follow-up. Presented in details are the research findings.
