This article discusses restoration of a wetland in New Jersey. Mitigation work included the creation of channels, impoundments, low marsh habitat and upland habitat islands The coastal marsh site contains heavy metals and spartina salt meadow grass which was studied for bioaccumulation of nickel and other metals. According to the authors,the study demonstrated that nickel amendment had no significant effect on the fate of other metals in sediments.
