The article reports on the incident happened in Naples, Italy wherein a volcano named Vesuvius had erupted, the volcano that destroyed the city of Pompeii in AD 79. It reveals that fiery avalanches of ash and debris called pyroclastic flows traveled 20 kilometers and covered the whole area of Naples. It also notes that avalanches of molten ash, pumice and gas roar down the slopes of the volcano, pulverizing buildings and burying everything in their path.
