Abstract

The article reports on a study of the characterization of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses in Myanmar. It was performed at the Mandalay regional Veterinary Laboratory in Myanmar wherein the phylogenetic analysis of the haemagglutinin (HA) gene of chickens and ducks was made. Its results demonstrated that two different genetic origins of HPAI viruses were found in Myanmar due to cross-border movement of poultry.
