Abstract

The author examines Canadian policy toward the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Robert Fowler, former Canadian UN ambassador, made a statement expressing his dismay on how Canadian policy toward the Middle East has shifted in favor of Israel. The author contends that foreign policy has always been significantly tilted toward the Jewish nation in a way that has impaired peace prospects in the region. He encourages historical accounting of Canadian policy as a first step to reconciliation.
