Sustained exposures to high concentrations of air pollutants above the current standards result in detrimental health effects in exposed children populations. 1-6 This adverse effect of air pollution affects 9 million children in Mexico City alone and millions more in highly polluted cities in Mexico and the world. The purpose of this review is to report the results of our studies in clinically healthy children residents of Mexico City and its correlation with pediatric pathology and comparative experimental pathology studies from our laboratories.
