The present study was a meta-analysis compiling research on digital citizenship conducted in Mexico in 2011 - 2023. It was guided by the objective of arguing, analyzing and categorizing the lines of knowledge generation and application (LGAC) related to digital citizenship in Mexico. The methodology applied was meta-analysis where 88 research studies were documented: 47 papers, 33 journal articles and 8 theses. The studies found support the existence of six LGAC in Mexico. It was concluded that the studies are related to understanding the way in which society appropriates digital technologies, interactions through social networks and the manifestations of digital identity. Another point to highlight is that the study of digital citizenship has been used to analyze the acquisition of digital skills and attitudes, social issues addressed by digitalization, the roles played by educational actors in the virtual environment and the promotion of multiculturalism. The studies found provide relevance to the LGAC, and allow concluding that digital citizenship is a topic present in research on educational technology in Mexico. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this article is to present an analysis of research and studies from the decade between 2012 and 2021 on education policies for the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the Mexican national education system. Using a qualitative document analysis methodology, it was found that the reviewed works are based on the guidelines proposed by international organizations regarding the use of technology in innovative pedagogical processes. It is concluded that it is essential to continue researching this topic in order to understand how technology is transforming teaching and learning processes, and to identify the progress made and proposals to improve its integration in the national education system. With this approach and the experience of confinement, we take up the results of a previous project regarding the dimension of the encounter, the practices of space and the use of ict, which can provide interesting contributions for the conception of future spaces. With the aim of contributing to the empirical discussion on the use of computer technology in the labor market, an analysis of employed women in Mexico is carried out. This tests the hypothesis that the female group presents statistically significant salary differences, favorable to users of ICT, and that the probability of obtaining a better salary is greater if these technologies are used. In addition to this, the existence of a wage premium associated with the use of computers and the Internet for women is verified. In all cases, the results are, favorable for the women who use ICT. This work aims to know how the trend in the use of virtual spaces is, from the proposals is of incorporating technology in the teaching practice in Higher Education and knows if the level of use of information and communication technologies (ICT) affects the design and development of the proposals. In this work was used a correlative transactional methodology and the process was concurrent by complementation with a group of professors from a Mexican public university. We observed that sending and receiving documents is the most used dynamic and that, the main obstacles and difficulties are get internet accessibility and the connection speeds. The main learning activity used is creating individual documents. We concluded that, the level of skill in use of ICT that the teacher considers having does not improve the integration of technologies inside of teaching practice, and that the use of virtual spaces is oriented towards instrumental aspects (do not spent paper, automatic evaluation, and others), the possibility of structuring pedagogical proposals with integration of ICT that seek to improve the teaching and learning process in students is left aside. As a result of the global pandemic of covid-19, distance education went from being a little considered training option to the status of the main operating alternative for the school system. Educational institutions by adapting their work to the use of digital platforms have managed to keep their programs active despite reducing their training expectations. School activities at home face complex social situations that contravene the teaching precepts, cause poor learning and many cases of school dropout. In the text, a review of eHealth public policies implemented in Mexico in recent years is carried out, to determine which institutions have promoted them, as well as what their objectives and scope have been. To this end, the text addresses the background of eHealth policies in Mexico to subsequently make a balance of the priorities and trends that eHealth policies in Mexico have followed, as well as the most significant advances of the main initiatives in the field of e-Health of the State, civil society and the private sector in Mexico. As preliminary findings, it is necessary that, although eHealth policies are aimed at increasing equity in access to health services through the use of Information and Communication Technologies in Mexico, the segmentation of the health sector in Mexico, as well as the lack of continuity in eHealth public policies, have caused these to be nothing more than isolated attempts without effective results. Information and communication technologies in the educational sector have an important relevance in the teaching-learning process of students and in the knowledge of life skills. The objective of the research was to analyze the use of ICT as learning tools in the face of the COVID-19 contingency in the students of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua in Mexico. He nature of this research was quantitative and the type of research was applied, the scope was descriptive and the field research, the design was non-experimental descriptive transectional, the technique of gathering information was through a questionnaire. The main results showed a positive correlation towards information and communication technologies, which is shown in various aspects studied: learning style, mastery of the use of ICT, social networks, educational program, level of satisfaction with having technological resources appropriate; in all of them a favorable predisposition is manifested. The advantages that students consider with the use of ICT are the availability of information and collaborative learning. Of the disadvantages that were identified were the failures in the Internet connection, they have access to many distractions during class and consider that they have less learning. One of the most important findings of this research was that students have very good mastery of ICT to manage the technological tools used during the COVID-19 health contingency. This research analyzes the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teachers and students of six careers in the humanities area at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH), Mexico. The main objective was to establish a user profile, taking into account: time spent connected to the internet, topics addressed during these sessions, browsers, search engines and databases used, and the form and type of people with whom the user communicates. The analyzed sample constitutes a niche, in which all respondents have constant contact with ICTs and even though there is a significant gap in the sociodemographic variables of students and teachers, it was detected that these digital differences between both groups are small. The information collected encourages reflection on what are the challenges to give ICT a use that allows to obtain its maximum benefit in order to increase the productivity of students and teachers. Due to the need to improve teachers' digital competence in higher education, it is important to understand this competence as a dynamic and qualitative process. In this article, we share research findings about the evolution of teachers' digital competence throughout the professional career of professors from both Spain and Mexico. From a qualitative perspective, the narrative-biographical method was used to build a selection of case studies based on professional life stories. The study identified critical incidents for the acquisition and development of this competence, which fit into four groups: previous experiences of information and communications technology (ICT) use, selection and creation of teaching materials, first steps in digital resources for learning and teaching, and development of projects and initiatives with ICT. In addition, transversal aspects that have influenced the development of this competence were identified: the reflections of the academic staff, type of changes in the use of ICT, aids and difficulties experienced. Finally, we propose a list of categories and indicators based on the findings in order to understand teachers' digital competence as an evolution focused on their professional development. In Mexico, the Integral Reform of Higher Secondary Education (RIEMS) requires that information and communication technologies (ICTs) be used as a means to diversify educational practices. Therefore, this study seeks to identify the level of technology availability (infrastructure, connectivity, and technical and pedagogical support for the use of technologies) in upper secondary education institutions. Based on the opinions of the students, the aim is to determine if there is a relationship between the availability and the use of technology in teaching processes. A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional design is used in the study. The main results show that there is a significant relationship in private high schools between technology availability and the use of technology in education related to learning experiences, working styles and student learning; however, it is independent of the variable digital citizenship. In the case of public high schools, technology availability is significantly associated with learning experiences, but independent of the variables working styles, student learning or digital citizenship. Internationally, the necessary transformations of educational systems have been promoted, adapting their educational models to current social, economic, and political trends. The challenges of learning are to promote autonomy in students and mobilize them towards professional training scenarios that allow them to acquire competencies in favor of social welfare, generating in the student investigative skills to influence real scenarios. For this, the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in educational spaces for academic purposes through a series of basic and necessary conditions is essential (Perrenoud, (2009). For this reason, in the Master's Degree in Educational Sciences offered by the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, Mexico, in 2015 it redesigned its curriculum considering the elements of the appropriation level of ICTs (UNESCO, 2006), in such a way that it enriched the flexible and innovative teaching process, from constructivist positions creating strategies, including learning and research communities. We share experiences obtained from a postgraduate program that operates since 2016, using learning communities considering the elements of the level of appropriation of ICTs (UNESCO, 2006). This article we analyze the pedagogical practices carried out by students when developing an application with Augmented Reality technology to raise awareness about environmental problems that occur in the southeast region of Mexico, specifically in the State of Chiapas. The research is based epistemologically on the assumptions of the Sociocultural Constructivism paradigm and is contextualized in a Mexican public higher education institution. To proceed with the reality that circumscribes the study, a methodological model guided by the principles of Research- Action is designed, through participant observation, interview, focus group and content analysis, as information gathering techniques. Likewise, through the triangulation of these data collection sources, the analytical treatment of the information is carried out. The main findings point out that the integration of emerging technologies - such as Augmented Reality - to the educational process favors and motivates students' learning and simultaneously allows them to develop a series of digital competencies related to information management, ability to produce academic texts, the capacity for verbal argumentation, the ability to analyze and synthesize digital information, virtual collaborative work, autonomous learning and communication. In recent years the demand for specialized personnel in health care services has increased, this has encouraged the professionals in this area to look for alternatives of updating that adapt to the rhythms and working days according to their recruitment.The Instituto Universitario Veracruzano has started with the Master's Degree in Health Services in the online modality. The objective was to analyze the assessments on the online collaboration of a group of 26 students of the first semester in the subject in Information Systems and Technologies. The type of study was mixed, for the quantitative part was applied an instrument called "Colab" with a reliability index of Cronbach Alpha of 0.87. For the qualitative part, we analyzed the collaborative slogans made in the discussion forums. The results obtained indicates a favorable acceptance for this type of activities. Finally, it is concluded that virtual learning environments are favorable for those subjects whose working hours prevent them from studying in the face-to-face mode. In this article, we analyzed the students' self-perception regarding the use of technological tools for learning and study habits, as part of their academic training. From the pedagogical point of view, the self-perception of the students is the way in which they perceive themselves within the educational process. To do this, we analyzed the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, uses of digital technologies for support learning, how they complement their studies and the perception they have about technologies. The information was collected through a questionnaire validated and applied to the student population of a Mexican university, through a stratified sample. Once the analysis of the data was carried out, we found that students' motivation significantly influences the way in which they use ICT and that the students' self-perception depends on the learning objective, either for an academic purpose or for informal learning. In this article we present the revision of trends and general implications of higher education and continuous education of educators in distance modality in México –in the first place– and in the State of Veracruz –in the second place–, Mexican State where distance education enhanced with digital mediation has been a clear option of student and educator´s formation with a considerable reach. Technology enablement of educators with digital means is every time more necessary and to be coherent with the signs of the times, it requires breaking the prevailing paradigm of what it is understood by computational competence. As a response to a change of an educator´s enablement structure, we built two virtual diplomats for in service educators that have, as a funding base, the theory of the Digital Knowledge Set. The courses that were designed in 2017 and 2018, are today offered by the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions of Mexico and its National System of Distance Education; and besides resorting to the afore mentioned theory, the programs considered the level educators are working on and their disciplinary orientation as articulation axis of a relevant formation. This article aims to present a theoretical approach to the role of the Mexican state in the social appropriation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the reduction of poverty, as part of a broader research whose objective is to empirically analyze that role. The framework of analysis presented suggests that when technology is appropriated on a large scale by society, it becomes part of the institutional and organizational framework of the state, and because of that the state itself can prevent or reproduce social problems such as poverty through it. In this line of thinking, we conclude that institutional analyzes of the states are required to be able to contribute to the construction of capacities to promote the social appropriation of ICTs and reduce social problems such as poverty. The purpose of this study is to perform a meta-analysis of the state of knowledge of ICT-based education in Mexico and Latin America in the last decade. Prior to seeking information, general lines of knowledge application and categories were defined. The results indicate that studies are mostly focused on virtual learning resources and their contribution to education. Similarly, it was found that 80% of studies are qualitative, with quantitative or mixed studies accounting for only a fifth of work on the subject. In Mexico, 46% of research addresses higher education; this figure is 62% in Latin America. The goal of this study was to comment, analyze and categorize in a descriptive way the generational lines and application of knowledge (GLAK) for various products of scientific research conducted in Mexico in relation to the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to the educational process. The main objectives were: to identify the specific type of population the research would be directed to, to compare the types of population with the greater and lesser number of research studies made, to compare the GLAK with greater and lesser number of studies, and to identify emerging fields of investigation. The methodology considered inclusion criteria in order to select repositories and types of documents to be analyzed (a total of 470 research papers were selected). The GLAKs upon which the research studies were to be conducted were also defined. Within the results, we found that the education levels with the greater and lesser number of students with regard to higher education and preschool education, respectively. The main voids of knowledge were found in the management and quality areas of educational programs, as well as educational policies related to ICTs. This article explores the potential uses of information communication technologies (ICTS) in the treatment of mental health issues in transnational communities. Drawing on research conducted among residents of San Miguel, Oaxaca, living in both Mexico and the United States, this study describes the community's mental health profile, including patterns of alcoholism and drug use, as well as access to and use of ICTs. Nowadays, young musical consumption is influenced by mass media and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which approach them to a new musical proposal through radio, TV, and Internet. This aspect is related to the informal musical learning that young people acquire, which determine the influence in their formal education. Thus, this research presents an analysis of musical consumption from a sample of 530 undergraduate students from the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua (UACH, Mexico) using a culturally adapted version of the questionnaire "Cultural habits and practices in Spain" ("Hábitos y prácticas culturales en España", Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, 2003). Results show that radio and television are the most common media for listening to music everyday, and demonstrate an increasing use of Internet to download and listen to music. The article discusses the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in Mexico and how they contribute to the economic development and productivity. The author comments on the development of information technology, Mexican public administration, as well as technological innovations. The competition in economics, the economic conditions of Mexico, and investigation related to the common good are explored. This In this work, we analyze the role of the digital divide in the information society, as ground for social exclusion in the use of ICT in Mexico. Afterwards, the behavior of the digital divide is analyzed, with its different dimensions through time, also describing the penetration and development levels of ICT. In addition, a case of study of university students enrolled in Information Technology careers is discussed in order to determine the existence of a digital divide and its parameters. Through two research experiences linked to the Piamonte region and Mexico City, this article attempts to highlight how the distribution of latest-generation information and communications technologies (ICTS) constitute a necessary --albeit insufficient-- condition for smart development. What are more important are organization and the aggregation model adopted by different subjects operating in the territorial contexts. This paper provides an overview of some of the gains and constraints in the process of construction of a knowledge society in the state of Morelos, Mexico, focusing mainly on the development and use of ICT and on the role of institutions of higher education (IES- acronym in Spanish). To this end, documentary and field research methods were applied; interviews were conducted with experts and a case study from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos [Autonomous University of the State of Morelos] is reported. The following conclusions were highlighted: a) while Morelos has made significant progress in scientific and technological matters, challenges remain in order to be able to even speak of a knowledge society; b) the fact that institutions of higher education have ICT does not necessarily mean that they have adequately appropriated them and employ them to improve their processes; and c) institutions of higher education need to generate outreach programs that engage with the region so that technological developments are translated into benefits for the people of Morelos. Article product of the investigation titled ‘’Access, use and appropriation of the Technologies of Information and Communication, TIC, in the academic community of the UNAM,’’ carried out as part of the macro project 1 ‘’Technologies for the university of information and computing.’’ The study concentrated on computers and the internet, and looked to identify the daily academic practices of students, teachers and researchers in the use of these methods. In this work we report on the opinions expressed by the students, collected through eight focus groups integrated by students from the first and last semesters of different representative fields of the four areas of concentration of the UNAM. The results indicate that there exist differences by area and by semester that the students attend; while for the students in the areas of biology and health, physics-mathematics and engineering, the TIC are fundamental resources in academic activities and general life. For students in social sciences they are instruments for socialization. On the part of the humanities and the arts they are perceived as secondary tools in the academic environment and for socialization. The knowledge of the offered resources by UNAM rise in measurement in which the students attend more advanced semesters, not only by natural information, a product of daily universitary coexistence, but for the need to carry out their work for their degree. The article discusses the systematic use of ICT in teaching, based on the results of a decade of institutional training in this regard. The analysis is developed from a series of data of the issue, allowing see the cause of low frequency in the ITC use. The conclusion proposes a set of strategies that could solve the problem and establishing a theoretical and empirical debate from the hypotheses that emerge from the analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We present the results of an exploratory study whose purpose was to explore the use by 12-13 years old students of Cabri-Géomètre II and a mathematical strategic virtual game in a Mexican state school. For this paper, the mathematical focus was on symmetry. The data analysis allowed us to observe the functionality of this learning environment to transform the students' conceptions and to recognize that a different type of mathematical thinking can be developed with these computational learning environments. This paper reports results from a larger research project that analyzes the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in online higher education courses in France and Mexico. The francophone perspective on the development of the social uses of ICTs informs the theoretical approach. Within this view, the user's appropriation of technologies and online services is crucial to understanding their academic performance, because ICTs are considered social constructions with different meanings according to their users and contexts of use. This paper reports the results of 25 semi-structured interviews with students in two Mexican universities referred to as UdG Virtual and UABC. The analyses of the interviews were carried out using content analysis. Results suggest that online learning serves a variety of students' needs, including helping them understand computers and basic software, as was the case of some freshman students at the UABC, to recognizing and validating professional skills in the case of adult students from the UdG Virtual. In general, students' discourses showed different levels of appropriation and different ways of using the available online programs, but for most of the students online learning meant an opportunity to advance academically, which would not otherwise be possible. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la percepción de los escenarios de aprendizaje y las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) por parte de estudiantes universitarios de la Universidad Veracruzana en México. El tipo de investigación es mixto. Para la parte estadística descriptiva, se diseñó una encuesta y se aplicó un muestreo probabilístico integrado por 308 participantes de los 1 200 alumnos. En tanto, el elemento cualitativo estuvo conformado por 40 estudiantes en cinco grupos de discusión en tres centros: Veracruz, Xalapa y Orizaba. Los resultados del estudio señalan que hay una tendencia escasa hacia el uso de las TIC en la licenciatura en Sistemas Computacionales Administrativos y se aproxima más a un modelo educativo tradicional. Además, no existen diferencias significativas en las dimensiones de los escenarios de aprendizaje a nivel centro y género. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
