This paper shows the importance of using interpretative, hermeneutic methods in research related to precarious housing, taking as a case study the municipality of Pinal de Amoles, Querétaro, Mexico. Firstly, the phenomenon is characterized through the use of natural semantic networks, where a degree of knowledge of society about the phenomenon is appreciated. Secondly, the perception of the population regarding the causes and those responsible for the problem is compiled to make sense of these independent variables deductively. Finally, through the theoretical analysis of precariousness and poverty measurement, it is revealed that the related studies approach the phenomenon from the perspective of materiality and not the person and his or her technical–cognitive capacities. In conclusion, there are gaps between the knowledge of the causes from which the conditions of precariousness originate and the perception of individuals to the conditions of habitability in precarious housing. The purpose of this qualitative research was to understand how the practices and discourses undermining the dignity and integrity of trans youth operate. Focus groups and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 23 trans youth between the ages of 16 and 29 in Mexico. Content analysis was used to identify the practices and discourses through which their rights were violated in a range of dimensions (identity, labor, education, health and space). Moreover, the acts and resources they used to cope with the various forms of infringement, such as emotions, information and communication technologies, and art were identified. We conclude that relations of social inequality translate into the precarization of human rights and, at the same time, the basis that contributes to resisting the precarization of rights and the construction of a trans political subjectivity. Aim: To analyse sociodemographic and labour correlates of labour precariousness among Mexican nurses from 2005 to 2018. Background: The progressive loss of labour rights has led to a situation characterized by precarious working conditions among health workers globally. Methods: A repeated cross‐sectional and population‐based study was carried out (N = 3,699,282). A generalized ordinal logistic regression model was estimated to assess correlates of precariousness. Precariousness was defined as a non‐weighted score of the sum of five dichotomous variables: (a) non‐written contract; (b) income lower than two times the minimum wage; (c) with a partial or an extended workday; (d) without social benefits; and (e) without social security. Results: The labour precariousness level increased during the studied period, particularly among the younger and the older, the single ones and among those located in suburban and rural areas. Nurses with lower levels of training were more exposed to precarious conditions, as well as those with jobs in private health institutions or working outside the health sector. Conclusions: Precarious work is considered a combination of global and local labour factors, including the lack of protective labour policies in health institutions, which calls for the development of a public policy to protect jobs in the health sector. On 19 March 2020, I last met with a group of women from a neighbourhood of Monterrey, Mexico where I have spent the past year conducting ethnographic research. They had scheduled a meeting to decide whether to continue our weekly talks on health-related topics. 'Is this coronavirus real?' was the question guiding the meeting. Women shared their thoughts on their feelings on the threat that predominates in biomedical discourse. An air of resignation pervaded their speech. Nearly all of them suffer from chronic diseases and they clearly perceive the risk of their own death. However, the material conditions of their lives limit the scope of their strategies to protect themselves. A dialogue emerged between the women's request for clarity regarding the pandemic and me, a researcher called on as a physician. This article seeks to reflect on the political and moral aspects of everyday life that configure risk perception in the context of the WHO-declared pandemic. I analyse the dialogue sustained in the meeting as part of an ethnographic research I am conducting in this neighbourhood. Most of its residents live under precarious circumstances, which is a fundamental element in understanding their responses to the current COVID-19 crisis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

From the perspective of longitudinal analysis (1995-2014), one part of the labor market in Mexico can be described as precarious, since no guarantees minimum subsistence income for a majority of their workers, thereby causing high levels of informality, poverty and inequality. From the analysis of labor heterogeneity, this reality is not widespread, because in each activity can be detected different levels of economic benefits of workers: low, medium and high. In this context, the present study demonstrated from a theoretical review and statistical data to analyze the difficulties and broadly classified the precarious situation of the labor market and the effects of some indicators in the economic progress of the country. Mexican labor conditions have deteriorated as a consequence of the advance of precariousness exhibited in the last years; the previous situation demands the development of an effective policy, seeking the strengthening of labor market. This research analyses specifically income precariousness throughout the Poverty Labor Trend Index (ITLP) within the application of the Panel Analysis of Non-Stationarity in Idiosyncratic and Common Components Method (PANIC) among the thirty-two states of Mexico.
