This article explores literary mediation in adverse and unconventional contexts in Mexico and Chile. Through interviews, a relationship is established between literary mediation and the categories of care ethics proposed by Joan Tronto. It is concluded that literary mediation is organized through a methodology focused on listening, supporting both leisure and self-knowledge and emotional containment. The importance of establishing mediation objectives related to literacy and personal growth is highlighted, and the mediator's responsibility in recognizing the participants' needs is emphasized. Literary mediation is configured as an assistance practice that seeks to establish dialogues and connect with people's personal experiences in adverse contexts. [Extracted from the article]
