This research explores university educators' perspectives on the opportunities, concerns, and considerations associated with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the training of professional communicators. Positioned at the early stages of ChatGPT's integration into educational settings, the study examines teachers' assignment instructions, assessments of ChatGPT's responses, and reflections on these outcomes. Employing a cross-sectional, qualitative methodology, the research involves a sample of 22 teachers from communication faculties in Mexico, Peru, and Spain. Utilizing Bloom's taxonomy and an inductive approach for data analysis, the findings unveil nuanced views on GenAI's role in teaching practice. Teachers perceive ChatGPT as a tool with varying impacts depending on its application. They articulate distinct roles for ChatGPT, viewing it as either an ally or a rival, prompting discussions on anthropomorphizing technologies and emphasizing the need to empower students in GenAI tool usage, establish ethical protocols, and reconsider assessment methods, among other key considerations.

While the army takes to the streets, the legal doctrine moves more and more closer towards a guaranteed framework that will give recognition to the indigenous community's right to be consulted. Unfortunately, this is not worth the paper it's written on when they have to face such heavy artillery. This avoids recognizing the complicated and pluralist reality, where justice is not consulted but remains a production of reality and where the army is one step closer towards reaffirming the narco-politics of Mexico's new regime. To determine trends in landings and growth of the pustulose ark or black ark Anadara tuberculosa, a bivalve mollusk in the Bahía Magdalena-Bahía Almejas region along the southwestern coast of the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico, catch statistics recorded by artisan or small-scale fishermen from 1992 to 2002 and size frequency distributions of samples from commercial catches (November 1998-December 2000) were analyzed. Catch data revealed considerable fluctuations and a trend toward decline. No defined seasonal exploitation pattern was observed; however, on average, the months with the highest catches coincided with the highest reproductive activity. There was evidence of a decrease in black ark density, which might be accounted for by the fishery. Parameters derived from the von Bertalanffy growth equation confirm that individuals reach the minimum catch size of 60 mm in a little more than 1 year. Catch sizes ranged between 40 and 80 mm. The proper management of abortion is a motive for concern due to the high incidence of maternal complications, including death observed all over the world in developing countries. Objective: To present the final result of a multicenter project on the improvement of post-abortion care (MAPA). It included a selection of three hospitals in Mexico City, Monterrey and Oaxaca. The main purpose was to improve the quality of attention of the patients with spontaneous abortion in the three cities, by introducing manual endouterine aspiration (MEA) in the management of patients with spontaneous abortion lesser than 12 weeks from menstrual delay. Material and methods: First we made an analysis of patient's perception at the beginning and at the end of the project on: attention, doctor-patient relationship, counselling about abortion and family planning, expenses made by the patient, perception about the right treatment and its quality. Training in MEA techniques began in the year 2000, and in 2001 we dealt with the first cases; in that year reaching 72% of procedures. By the year 2002 this proportion increased to 84%, much higher than the 47% in Mexico City and the 13.5% in Oaxaca. Results: The items of the survey that showed change were: patient's perception of appropiateness of expenses, that changed from 2.3 to 97.0%, of a suitable treatment was 15.0% and it increased to 92.0%, followed by attention from the staff to the patient that was from 57.7 to 79.6% and the global quality index from 28.5 to 42%; and the doctor-patient relationship and the counselling showed no change. The introduction of the project in Nuevo Leon, in the hospitals from Dr. Arroyo, Montemorelos and Sabinas Hidalgo, allowed us to apply the MEA in the year 2002 in 48.3%, compared with Mexico City (6.6%) and Oaxaca (4.5%) was the most significant. The article focuses on the study by Ramírez-Rodríguez and colleagues on the morphological abnormalities of the crab Cancer johngarthi off the Southwest Coast of the Peninsula of Baja California in Mexico. It relates that the study is undertaken through a fishing survey to obtain information about the stock abundance, distribution, and population dynamics of the crabs. Results of the study reveal the mentioned abnormalities in ten specimens of the crab in December 2002.

Between the years 1999 and 2000, six expeditions were made to Isla San José, in the Gulf of California. Observations and samples were taken of benthic macroinvertebrates in nine locations. Based on the samples, the specific components of three phyla were determined: Cnidaria (Scleractinia and Gorgonacea), Mollusca (Gastropoda, Bivalvia and Cephalopoda), and Echinodermata (Echinoidea and Holothuroidea). The abundance of conspicuous benthic macroinvertebrates was visually estimated through free dives at a depth of between two and six meters along two transects parallel to the coast. A total of 38 taxa in three groups were determined. The most abundant species are Tripneustes depressus (44,9%), Echinometra vanbruntii (18,3%), Phataria unifascialis (8,9%), Centrostephanus coronatus (8,0%), Diadema mexicanum (5%) y Eucidaris thouarsii (3,6%). No significant differences between diversity (H'), equity (J) and richness of the species (S) during the months and site of study. During the years of 1989 and 1990, the yield of the commercial fishery for the catarina scallop, Argopecten circularis (Sowerby, 1835), in Magdalena Bay, was 750 million organisms (5186t of muscles), which were gathered by diving at 12-30m depth. This production is the largest registered to date and accounted for 53% of the total Mexican scallop production since 1981. The formation of large beds in that area is a sporadic phenomenon which needs to be studied. In the present paper, a model to explain the formation of such beds is drawn, in which the bentho-pelagic red crab, Pleuroncodes planipes (Stimpson, 1860), plays a role as primary substrate for the recruitment of the spat and simultaneously is the active transporter of juveniles into the Bay during the winter months of cold years. Apparently exploitable beds are formed only when temperatures of 16°C or lower, are registered deep inside the Bay for at least 2 months. Relating these findings with short and long-term temperature fluctuations, it seems possible to predict future exploitable stocks in the area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
