This article aims to diversify STS perspectives on populism by addressing a sequence of episodes of Mexican science policy in terms of clashes between populism and scientific communities. The article describes a reorientation of Mexican science policy that has destabilized the academic system during the present administration. Specifically, it looks at the legislative project initiated by Mexico's National Science and Technology Council (Conacyt) to overhaul the national regulatory framework on science, technology and innovation, and controversial political actions taken by Conacyt against the scientific community. Contextualizing these grievances, the article concludes that at stake is a form of 'trickle-down populism' that, through systematic authoritarianism, seeks to impose on the academic community a model of 'populist science governance'. Objective. To estimate the factors associated with open communication between mental health professionals and parents of patients with intellectual disabilities and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Materials and methods. Cross-sectional survey in 759 mental health professionals. The association between the pattern of open communication and the attributes of communication was estimated through a logistic, ordinal, multivariate model. Results. The prevalence of the pattern of open communication in mental health professionals was 30.6% (95%CI 27.4-34.0). The associated factors were younger age (RM=2.42, 95% CI 1.57-3.75), specialty (RM= 1.56, 95%CI 1.09-2.23), high value to the truth (RM= 4.95, 95% CI 3.21-7.65), low paternalism (RM= 10.93, 95%CI 7.22-16.52) and courses in bioethics (RM= 1.45, 95%CI 1.01-2.09), adjusted for confusing variables. Conclusion. Mental health professionals reported low levels of open communication with parents of people with neurovelopmental disorders, so prioritizing the value to the truth, promoting less paternalism, and respecting the autonomy of patients, can contribute to changing these patterns of communication in clinical practice in Mexico. In this paper I reflect on the risky situations that conditioned my field work in an indigenous community located in the Purépecha Plateau of the state of Michoacán (Mexico), and on the possibilities of telling what "really happened" in the history of that community; the political need to establish the truth became an element of dispute among some of the community members, thus placing me in conflictive situations. The concerns that I express in this article are endogenous, that is, the problem is ascertained through anthropology itself. For this reason, I categorize communication in three concepts: rumor, history and fear. The general questions are: What are the channels that the community members were looking for so as to have their narrative heard, displaced, validated and turned into truth, by engaging in actions that could endanger the ethnographer himself? This article presents a critical analysis of Sandra Cisnero's fiction "Woman Hollering Creek." Her stories about childhood reflect the harsh realities facing Latina girls growing up in the borderland between the U.S. and Mexico. In "One Holy Night," similarly, Cisneros rejects the identification of emerging female sexuality with sin. Cisneros' stories about adult women also critique the church and the Latino community for conspiring to commodify and control female sexuality.

However well‐meaning, government‐backed schemes to house the populace can be counterproductive in their emphasis on quantity. An over two‐million‐home building spree in Mexico in the first six years of the millennium ultimately led to soulless townscapes of standardised units. Mexico City‐based architect Meir Lobaton Corona examines how this arose, and argues for placing the emphasis back on context, coherence and community – particularly through the work of the country's National Institute for the Funding of Workers' Housing (INFONAVIT). This article explores the concepts of truth and fiction in the construction of self in educational contexts. First, it defines the uses of life stories in education, along with their relation to the biographical method; second, it reviews three paradigms of autobiographies that mark the transition between truth and fiction; and lastly, it describes a series of reasons that life stories are fictitious, and the advantages of this posture for the study of educational subjects and their future. This essay is to honor EDUARDO IBARRA COLADO. He was one of those who had started the critical thoughts into the Administration field in Mexico. He went beyond to the pragmatism's Administration as to the contemplation of the Sociology itself. The authors of this article have taken two of his texts, where he though-turnover of the phenomenon of the inequality and marginalization, which happens into no hegemonic society's sectors. From their own critical opinion, they dealt with some of the relations between Administration and Organizational Studies in Latin-American countries, mainly in Mexico. They also showed its relevance outlining the implication of the definition of curricula and the studies programs related to one of the most requested professional career in Mexico: Administration bachelor's degree. The authors described in, how the legitimated way of the occidental orthodox discuss into the organization's knowledge does, to marginalize another types of non-hegemonic knowledge. The article looks at themes of truth and justice in mid-20th century Mexican nota roja, or crime news. According to the author, these publications did not merely provide prurient escapism, but instead encouraged readers to become critically engaged with public affairs and reflected the reality of everyday life. It suggested that nota roja accounts of crimes were seen as more authoritative than accounts of justice provided by the state. Details on the language used by newspapers are presented.

The article discusses the aspects of superstition from colonial church to secular state in Mexico. It examines how historical actors used the term "superstition", and how they differentiated it from kindred concepts and terms like magic, witchcraft and religion. It outlines the conceptual problems which surround superstition. Moreover, it notes that the heuristic benefits conferred by the branches of modern knowledge vary from case to case, which includes benefits from a product of fruitfulness of the approach and its suitability for the matter in hand.

This article focuses on "Amor Perdida," a script written by Tennessee Williams. "Amor Perdida" is titled after "Amor Perdido," a bolero written by Pedro Flores. According to the author, if in some respects "Amor Perdida" offers a version of the truth, then it is a version that elides some facts while embroidering others. The most that can be said with some confidence is that "Amor Perdida" was written between the end of September 1940 and the summer of 1945, when Williams made his second trip to Mexico.

The article examines the production of effects of truth and power in both official and popular historical discourses in Mexico and demonstrates how representations of the past configure the imagining of community. All histories, whether spoken or written, are produced in an encounter between hermeneutics and a field of social action which is symbolically constituted, even though at the time of the action, the meanings embedded in practice may not be clearly or fully evident to the consciousness of actors. Representations of the past, whether professional or popular, printed or spoken, are defined as specific sorts of performances or texts through a series of framing devices. The way such reconstructions are framed configures their truth value by bringing into play the ideologically constituted status of different forms of knowledge. The discussion of the ideological constitution of histories will be limited to the role of ideology in the creation of retroactive reconstructions of social practice.
