Abstract

This study reviews the IHI Ventilator Bundle, an intervention strategy designed to improve the outcomes of mechanically ventilated patients from the nonprofit organization Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A table is presented that lists each intervention, including the elevation of a patient's bed by 30 to 45 degrees, the goal of the intervention, potential complications and key studies that support the use of each intervention.
