Abstract

The article presents a study which monitored southward migrating Red Knots in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was observed that northern and southern-marked knots had different migration chronologies, plumage characteristics and flight feather molt. It was also noted that the average minimum stopover durations were found to differ according to original banding locations and that differential uses of foraging and roosting habitats were related to migration destinations.
