This article reports on a study to test whether medical students at Harvard Medical School figure out the diagnosis of each case study featured in the journal from the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) more correctly than their counterparts at other medical institutions. These articles feature a case study and present dialogue on diagnosis and treatment options from experts. They are used to teach students and residents how to make a logical diagnosis. 260 case studies were reviewed and points were given for correct answers. Overall, physicians related to Harvard Medical School made the correct diagnosis 86 percent of the time. Physicians from MGH scored a 95 percent accuracy rate, while physicians unrelated to either institution were right 74 percent of the time.
