The article presents a tribute to writer and theorist Edouard Glissant, considered as one of the founders of the Creolite movement in Martinique. It expresses regret to the loss of Edouard Glissant on February 3, 2011 as it marks the end of an intellectual tradition for the French Overseas Department of Martinique. His thoughts on Martinique literature has been remembered to have a global impact, particularly on the precarious insularity of the certitude of continental mass.
