Abstract

The article presents the study which examined the effects of brood size, food availability and hatching asynchrony on the fledgling success of the brood of the bird specie, American Coot (Fulica america). In the study, the survival of the chicks was calculated through the use of the Cormack-Jolly-Seber mark-resighting models. The study was conducted in an area near Minnedosa, Manitoba.
