This study includes determination of the loss of bearing capacity of Manisa (Saruhanlı) region. It was predicated that Gediz Graben Fault Zone was a length of 150 km and approximately passes through in a distance of 33 km in the south of Saruhanlı District. In a probable earthquake effect, Gediz Graben would be cracked 1/3 of the total length and it could produce as MW=7,1 and amax=0.28 g. The liquefaction analysis was performed and liquefaction map was prepared. The samples were obtained from site according to liquefaction map and reconstituted in laboratory. They were subjected to stress-controlled cyclic loads according to cyclic stress ratio obtained from site conditions consolidating to stress which was exposed to influence of geological overburden in-situ field stress. The whole tests were performed at a frequency of 0,5 Hz. In the end, one region was liquefied and the other region was not liquefied. According to expected the scenario earthquake sand, silt and clay are evaluated how to behave under the seismic loads within the framework of this study. In the second stage the liquefaction analyze of low plasticity silts and sands are emphasized how to perform. In the final stage it was emphasized how to affect the bearing capacity due to plastic silts and clay softening under dynamic loads. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
