Objectives: The current study evaluated the knowledge and its predictors regarding the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) among future healthcare professionals in a university in Malaysia. Methods: A cross-sectional study approach was utilized to recruit the study participants from three different healthcare faculties of a university. A validated research tool with a data collection form was used to obtain data by convenience sampling method. The healthcare faculties involved in the present research were pharmacy, dentistry, and medical. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 24.0 was used to analyze the data. Results: In the current study, a total of 273 participants were recruited. The majority of the study participants had an average and inadequate knowledge about EVD. The male participants had better adequate knowledge than females. Both univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were applied to determine the predictors of knowledge about EVD among the study participants. Statistically, a significant level was taken at p <0.05. Conclusion: Gender and healthcare professionals in the family were observed as the pure predictors of knowledge regarding EVD among the study participants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Determining the magnitude of an influx into the wellbore when a kick event occurs is very important during well design as well as the well execution phases. This research is conducted to determine the kick tolerance where the single bubble phase model is applied and also to compare it with the dynamic multiphase model. The information on the well and the parameters used are taken from the high pressure and high temperature well drilled in Malaysia. Dynamic multiphase modelling is capable of supporting more kick volume compared to single bubble gas phase modelling where it considers multiple fluid phase in an influx and applies the gas characteristic to have a multiphase pressure loss. Dynamic multiphase gives more kick tolerance to fracture the weakest point at the casing shoe where single bubble gas phase is more conservative when it allows influx. The effect of pore pressure, mud weight, mud type, oil composition in mud, as well as the circulation kill rate are explored in dynamic multiphase. Increasing the mud weight in either case reduces the maximum allowable kick volume of an influx due to the reduction in MAASP between fracture pressure and hydrostatic pressure at the casing shoe. Higher kick volume can be achieved using WBM compared to SBM. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is performed from the dynamic multiphase simulations to analyze the impact on the kick tolerance during the increase in mud weight as well as the pore pressure uncertainties. Moreover, the impact of kick tolerance has been investigated when different types of mud are used, such as water-based mud and synthetic-based mud. Based on the accuracy of the presented procedure, the prediction of kick tolerance from dynamic multiphase modelling can be used as a guideline to identify the behavior of an influx when a kick event occurs. • BOP flat time for each activity is analysed using 32 wells drilling data. • The target assessed time to install and remove BOP from wellhead are 8 and 6 h. • Target time to change BOP rams, P/T C/O of rams and P/T are 2, 1.5 and 6 h. • Significance of BOP flat time versus total flat time is determined. • BOP configuration, pressure-rating and connection type effects on BOP flat time. Flat-time operations are essential to the well construction process in the oil and gas drilling operation. However, the technical time limit (to construct the well as fast as possible for a certain set of conditions) for a well is not always achieved, which leads to increased operating costs. By reducing flat time, the cost of the well can be reduced. The safe handling of the Blowout Preventer (BOP) is one of the basic operations during the flat time period to ensure control of the well during drilling. Therefore, an example case study has been conducted using 14 wells drilled in Malaysia to determine the significance of BOP flat time versus total flat time. Findings of present study clarifies that BOP flat time has a significant impact on the total flat time. Therefore, if the BOP flat time as a total time is reduced, the cost of a well will decrease considerably. Additional research was conducted to analyze BOP flat time using 32 wells drilled in Malaysia for benchmarking purposes. The times for each BOP activity were recorded and a statistical analysis was performed. Mean times for each activity were calculated and outliers were examined. The target time for nippling up (when the BOP is installed onto the wellhead) BOP is 8 h. The target time for nippling down BOP (BOP is removed from the wellhead) is 6 h. The target time to change the BOP rams is 2 h. The target time for the pressure test change out of BOP rams is 1.5 h. The target duration of the BOP pressure test is 6 h. Based on the results of the statistical analysis, the factors affecting the BOP flat time were dependent on rig procedure, rig facilities, BOP configuration, BOP pressure rating, and BOP connection type.
